Even those of us who have been here a while can mess up...

I so feel this! the wonderful thing about this surgery is that its a great tool! I am up about 5lbs from my "comfy" weight and I am a grazer. I could graze all day and be happy but that is what got me obese so I cannot do that. you have been inspiring and continue to do so, thank you for sharing and being vulnerable. Its good for us to hear that everyone can slip up but we need to hear that -

My initial goal was to be 199lbs, that would've gotten me to 30bmi, then once I got there and I kept loosing I figured okay....I want to get new boobs and a tummy tuck what BMI would be the best and weight would allow me to get the best and safest results. So I dropped my goal to 180 then 170 and I kept it there. I now teeter between 163-170 and have been for a few months. Now that I got boobs I'm looking more at 168-172 but I super happy with how I look and feel, although I cannot wait to get back into the gym and loose just a couple more pounds to give me that wiggle room. Scale is just one factor that shows success but its not THE factor. (I have to tell myself that all the time lol)

What Are Some Things That Surprised You After Surgery?
AmberFL replied to Beks18's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Being lactose intolerant! Never ever have I dealt with that, but I cannot have regular yogurt or ice cream. I have to eat lactose free fage yogurt, or froyo is okay and doesn't caught tummy issues. -

@SpartanMaker I love butterscotch! Sounds delicious!! My go to's are: 1Cup FF Fairlife 1C Unsweetened Almond milk 1Tbl of FF SF pudding mix 1 scoop of Isopure- usually vanilla or chocolate Swerve to taste *if I do chocolate I'll add PB2 for a peanut butter taste Or Ill just do a fairlife protein shake and add the pudding mix My favorite one that I made thus far has been: 120ml of lite unsweetened coconut milk 285mil of unsweetened almond milk 1 scoop of vanilla isopure 1tbls of SF FF chocolate fudge pudding mix 1 tsp of cake batter extract 1 tsp of raw cacao 1tbls of swerve brown sugar The coconut milk really elevates the flavor and creaminess. Its higher in calories but in my option worth it! My recipes always makes 2 large servings!

hahah I tried that and yoga and I wanted to do a burpee or run. But it did help with other stuff like stretching and balance. But right now where I'm at, I like the high intensity workouts -

yes!! In another video he shows him eating a candy bar...He says I am eating this before my cravings get to out of control, so if you eat what your craving when its a level 2 instead of a level 10 you wont get out of control. When we restrict ourselves so much is when we tend to fail and that balance is so important. He also focuses on protein with every meal. This is so true for me. I eat for the most part really well, whole foods, high protein, low in fat and moderate in carbs. But I do eat something sweet every night lol! usually a Yasso ice cream bar or a protein ice cream I make in the creami. But I def will have a mini snickers or two lol

Hi all, This hit for me, I follow this guy on Youtube and he's great! He is not about the diet culture, he really focuses on the relationship with food and exercise. Check him out!

Prepping for February 14th (Surgery Day)
AmberFL replied to buildabetteranna's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
girrrrlllllllllllllll I had the same fear!! Like you said you owe it to yourself to be healthy, and shoot nothing else worked why not try this! Those were my thoughts. My initial goal was to be 200lbs and then it kept going down and I am stopping around 165-170, Once you are able to see the results, the new clothes, being more active, feeling good about yourself you realize that all this hard work was NOT for nothing. For reference I have lost 130ish lbs in a year! Its super duper doable!! Ask anything in this forum everyone is super willing to help and give you what worked for them. . You are going to kick ass and take names!!! -

I am year out and I still struggle with this. We have to think that we did not get obese by eating till we were satisfied. We overate for the taste, or craving. I do give into cravings and there are days where I blow it, but its life and its not going to be linear- lots of ups and downs. I don't think its something It will ever stop. I track as well, and it keeps me accountable. I just am working on my relationship with food, where I will enjoy the foods I love but in moderation. Also, having that 80/20 mentality is good too. Make sure to get movement in and make good choices. Remember this is a lifetime change not just for a moment change My best advice is to really take this time when your really restricted to work on that food relationship, work on small goals food or exercise. Your doing great on protein but maybe a goal is to come up with a delicious recipe that fits in your day? Or walking around the block. Starting small has really really helped me

Struggling with Food Tracking and ADHD
AmberFL replied to omgsharon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
^^yes!!!! Meal Prepping is really the key to success!!! It doesn't have to be a huge meal prep. I only meal prep my bfast and lunches. Then my snacks are super duper simple. Cheese and jerky, or a yogurt and berries, Even a protein shake with a cold brew. The simpler the better for me otherwise when I over complicate things I get annoyed and don't do it. -
Struggling with Food Tracking and ADHD
AmberFL replied to omgsharon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a tracker and I have ADHD so I have to meal prep and I track most my food (breakfast, lunch and snacks) for the week once I am done meal prepping. This is kinda crazy I know, I use mynetdiary, I have it on my phone and you can access it on a desktop which is important for me so I can look at it while at work. This leaves me my calories for the day so I know around what I can eat for dinner and a dessert if I want (which I always do like a sweet treat to end my night LOL) I am a little over a year out and I feel like tracking keeps me focused, I am not comfortable not tracking yet, its something that keeps me focused. I even track on the very high days. Like on my birthday, I tracked it was NOT pretty but I tracked it. -

Accurate Macro Calculator
AmberFL replied to AmberFL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ShoppGirl I am a super Type A, and research Nazi before I do anything LOL I have looked into all the risks, it took me entire year to even make the appointment with my doc for the sleeve and then I have been looking into a breast augmentation for a couple of years. The risks were what scared me, but yes I got the gummy bear implants so the risks are lower than saline for a leak. I will absolutely give you all my tips and tricks when your down and out as well! And yes, I have been having fun shopping and trying on tops that shows off the girls LOLOLOL @SpartanMaker I will definitely check in, I am taking everything into account of all the advice. When I do workout I am easily eating 2100-2400 and I stayed on the lower end of my end, but the range gives more flexibility. I know when I was so strict on my calorie goal that I set for myself I was over obsessing with it and I was falling into the other side of the spectrum of a really toxic relationship with food which was to avoid it and not eat. I am trying to find that happy medium, its taking time but I am getting there! I am hoping that on Friday for my appt it will be 1month post op and he gives me the go to at least do cardio! fingers crossed! -
Accurate Macro Calculator
AmberFL replied to AmberFL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@SpartanMaker PS= plastic surgery, being non-active my weight has gone up but the macros you suggested I started yesterday and I felt satisfied with focusing on Whole Foods, mostly protein and it worked out. My issue is that working out I felt leaner, and didn’t have bloat, even if I didn’t have a “perfect” day or “binged” on some sweets. I felt like I created a terrible habit and now I am trying to get back in the mindset where I was when I started this journey. You have given me awesome advice! Thank you for giving me some of your wealth of knowledge! @ShoppGirl im sure some of it is inflammation, I notice that if I wait to weigh myself later in the morning I’m weigh less than right in the morning. I figured that the implants weighed a couple of pounds but dang seeing me be 5-7lbs heavier is messing with my head. At first I told myself it’s okay if I gained a little I was getting too thin, now I’m like AHHHH nooooo I can’t. No one truly knows these feelings and mental strain this is if they were not obese at one time. I try not to talk about these feelings to anyone but this platform because I always get “you look fine, why are you worried, your overthinking” thank you for chiming in, I appreciate your intake!! -
