So at this point, I am confused to say the least. Started the bariatric Program: 336lbs Day of surgery: 326 CW:279 2 weeks shy of 5 months post Vsg GW 220-230 In the morning I can not eat food without first, drinking, something hot it’s the only time I really feel restricted. I am two weeks away from being five months out. Noticed I’m will only lose about 1-2 pounds a week but I fluctuate the same 1-2 pounds. I can’t get my protein from real food after eating 3oz of chicken at noon. I can’t eat real food for the rest of the day. Water intake is not a problem. But I have been at a stall for a month!! dietitian does not want me to rely on protein shakes, but that’s the only way to meet my protein goal. Any advice???

Currently 10 weeks post op Vsg . Haven’t been able to reach my protein goals (can’t tolerate many foods) & just started reaching my water goals. Not sure if this has contributed to my stall but any advice or recommendations on how to break a stall ?

What are your go to foods / snacks to buy on the bariatric pal website??? Im 2 months post op I really have little to no appetite. But with head hunger Im dying to have coffee & a muffin but want to stay away from high carbs. Sick of protein shakes just need some new things to try. Living off sugar free jello, pudding & 2 pieces of air fried chicken tenderloin. Every other day Is everything on the website ok to eat after Vsg ?

Fish & most veggies don’t sit well with me immediate dumping. Chicken has been my bestfriend. But im just getting bored with it. Taste buds aren’t the same. -

Yes I have the book with all the stages. I’ve been cleared to eat pretty much a well balance diet. However my taste buds are against everything I used to like before surgery. -
No one tells you really how difficult it is to get in your protein post op. I am unable to drink the required Protein Powder it makes me sick to my stomach. Everything protein powder, protein water, protein yogurt seems to all have a chalky aftertaste. Can you guys give any suggestions or highly recommended products to get in protein that don’t taste chalky and disgusting ? Most ready made shakes taste overly sweet to me now . One month post op next week surviving on water, Jell-O, pudding and broth.

So I was sleeved 2 days ago, I was told to only drink whey protein isolate however I can’t seem to tolerate it at all. The thickness, smell , taste everything just makes me want to throw up. Most of the powdered ones do. Did anyone’s surgeon have a problem with them substituting for ready made protein shakes? I tolerate premier protein very well.

So today is Day 1 of my liquid diet & im able to have one sensible meal. I choose chicken & veggies but I think I overdid it. I don’t have a scale to properly measure my food but I did use a portion control plate ( double protein instead of a starch ) half plate of veggies )Did anyone else have the meal option , do you know how many calories the meal should be ?

Hey guys, So today I got my surgery date 12/27 . Can you guys please comment your favorite whey protein isolate ? Or whatever protein shakes & clear liquids you did for the two week pre op liquid. I know everyone’s tastebuds are different, but which ones would you highly recommend?

I begin my 2 week liquid diet in 10 days, I want to try different shakes beforehand so I can see what I like & so I don’t get bored or just stuck with the same flavor for 2 weeks. please comment protein shakes you would highly recommend to try, Ready made protein shakes or powder !

I tried the fairlife strawberry banana & it taste like medicine. I’m familiar with premier protein but never seen any other flavors besides vanilla & chocolate at BJ’s … where did you buy the other flavors?? -

I know most doctors tell you to stop using birth control pills before surgery, but was anyone required to get their IUD removed prior to surgery?

How long after doing all pre op appointments/ prerequisites did you get your surgery date? My job gives a hard time with taking time off, can you give your surgeon date preferences ?

Thank you guys for all the help , as of yesterday I have completed all pre-op appointments & am currently waiting for my case to be reviewed by patient navigator so I can meet with my surgeon. Hopefully no issues arise & I can book my surgery

How were your periods after getting the gastric sleeve? Did they become regular or disappear all together? Did you experience hair loss? (tips on how to prevent please ) Last but not least. . . If you reached your goal weight and did not want to lose anymore weight how did you slow down your weight loss?
