    Gastric bypass?

Hey girls, thanks for your responses. I think I have given the wrong impression.I have looked at both options in depth and I agree with the surgeon.Bypass is the best option. I'm not able to repeat the reasons Ive been given well enough so so I wont try but believe me I think I am doing what is best for me. Thank you for your concern and advice.I'm sure we are all going to do really well and come out the other end in good health and looking beautiful.
  2. I meet with my surgeon and his team yesterday. The surgeon has talked me out of banding and suggested a bypass.I'm happy enough with this.It is all happening really fast.I have been given a date,25th November,3 weeks from today.I have all sorts of emotions going on.I'm excited and I'm frightened but I'm sure I'm doing the right thing. Jackie.

    Where is everyone from????

I'm down under in New Zealand.I haven't noticed any other New Zealanders here.
  4. Just wondering,if so were are you? I'm in Tokoroa.I have the first of my pre opp visits with the surgeon and his team on Monday.Only five more sleeps to go and I'm so nervous. What can I expect to hear from them? Can someone please reassure me! Jackie.:scared2::scared2::w00t::scared2:
  5. I have been considering weight loss surgery for several months now but I am so nervous.I have made so many attempts to loose weight before. This would have to be a last ditch attempt to get healthy. Four years ago I lost 50kg and had a tummy tuck and I have now hit a wall.I'm finding it really hard to move forward, and I find that I am relearning the bad habits of the past. I wonder if my worries are all just a part of the process or weather I am making a huge mistake. I wont to do this so badly. Jackie.

    Smoking Section

I stopped smoking 7 weeks ago for the second time. The first time I was smoke free for 2 years.I believe that you can brake the habit but the addiction never really leaves and it is for that reason that we can NEVER EVER even have a puff. As some one else has already said it dose get easier. All of a sudden you realize that you haven't even given a cig a passing thought! Remember that if you want something badly enough, anything can happen.Decide to do it and the rest will be a lot easier. Good luck everyone. Jackie.
  7. Hello every body,I'm new here and thought I would drop in and introduce myself. I am Minime and I am in New Zealand. I am a 54 year old mother and grand mother trying to improve my health. I had a phone call from surgeons office yesterday with appointment dates to see, obesity consultant, consulting therapist, clinical psychologist, nutritionst and of course the surgeon. This all takes place over two days. I'm excited, I'm nervous. I'm looking forward to chatting and getting to know people on these boards.
