Things are getting better each day. I was having a bit of a problem with diarreha :guess and the doctor said it was probably too much protein shake. He gave me permission to stop drinking the nasty stuff for a few days. And guess what, it's getting better. I have lost more weight in the last week then I have ever lost in a weeks period. I will not tell ya'll how much because ya'll still haven't had your procedure and I don't want you to get jealous. LOL Hint: weight loss is the square root of 64 times 2. :clap2:

Everybody loved the McGriddles, but I have heard no mention of the Wonderful Sausage Egg McMuffin. I would get 2 McMuffins and 2 hashbrowns - I was in total heaven. :hungry: I have only been a bander for 9 days, but I can't think of anything I would trade for a big-old Sausage Egg McMuffin. Maybe one of those Protein shake - Yummy :faint:

I had my op 9 days ago. I agree, have everything on the list, available and ready. Except the sports bra, if your a guy, as am I. (I may try one to see if it helps any ...lol) If you have something that sooths your stomach, you may want to have it on hand also. For example, when I feel the need to throw-up, I can drink pineapple juice and my stomach calms down immediately. One other thing. If you don't get the "gas" off your stomach fast enough, it will get into the cells. Once the gas has settled into the cells, it will cause the infamous shoulder pain :angry .....a heating pain will help with the pain, but walking - a lot of walk - will work the best.

"Did you have to do the pre-op diet? I don't, I was wondering if that has anything to do with you not being hungry. " No, I wasn't on a pre-op diet. In fact, I did the exact opposite. I ate all my favorite foods - kind'a one last time. On Friday I had pizza, on Saturday I had Fried chicken with Cream Potatoes, and on Sunday, after church, I had Kung Pao Chicken - Not to mention a few Snacks in between. Now you know why I had to have the band. My doctor, Dr. Richard Carter in Arlington TX, provides a dietary plan after the op that I am required to follow. The one thing I don't like about the diet is the Protein drinks.....Yuk :cry

Really starting to feel much better after the band was put in. I had a rough first 3 days, but it's getting better. One of the main problems was, I had a reaction to my antibioctics. My ears got real hot, my hands and feet would swell, and I felt like I was running a fever. I began walking since day one, but really didn't do all that great until today. Tomorrow I get to eat. I am planning on have a bowl of cream of wheat (extra runny) for breakfest, a cup of jelly-o for lunch, and strained vegatables and strained meat for dinner.

I just had my surgery on Monday, March 20th and the one thing I can recommend is to walk as soon as possible. I was in a lot of pain on the first day due to the gas problem, however, my wife forced me to get up and walk. By the end of the third day, the pain was very managable and I can deal with it much better. You may or may not be hungry after the surgery. I have not been and my mother, who had her band about 8 months ago, was not hungry either. It's kind'a strange. Don't get me wrong. My mind still is telling me that a double meat hamburger :hungry: would be great, but I am not hungry.
