I actually enjoyed the overnight stay. I was so groggy from the anesthesia, it was hard to stay awake for extended periods of time. I did get up and walk a few times throughout the night. One of the best things was that there was only one other patient on the unit, so it was really peaceful.

I also had my sleeve operation on 10/23. I’m trying to make sure I get enough liquids and Protein in. The first two days were pretty difficult, but it’s gotten easier as healing takes it’s course.

I’m 2 days post-op, and I think the worst part of recovery is the gas discomfort. Thankfully that’s finally subsiding. Now I’m focusing on trying to get in enough protein and liquid in. I hope everyone is doing well. Good luck to those who are still awaiting their surgery.

Black stool is usually a sign of an upper GI (gastrointestinal) bleed. It can also be from certain medications like iron. The diarrhea part I’m not quite sure about. You should definitely call your doctor with your concerns.

I’m on day two of clear liquids, and I’ve been so irritable today. I had to excuse myself just now because I’m afraid of taking out my irritability on my family.

We’re scheduled the same day! I also start my pre-op diet on 10/9. I’m scheduled for 10/23 at 8am.

I just had my pre-op labs, EKG, UGI, and CXR yesterday. I met with my dietician as well. I start my pre-op diet on 10/9. It actually feels good to not be journeying alone. Good luck to everyone.
