  4. Hello,

My name is Anjie. We had surgery very close in time. My surgery date was Sept 23, 08. I am anxious to hear your story and hopefully we can share information. I really need a friend who understands and can give me advice. I have lost 48lbs and I expected it to be more but I know everyone is different.

    Tell me about yourself.

    Thanks,

    Anjie

  5. Hi

My name is Anjie and I noticed we had surgery on the same day, 9/23/08. I was hoping we could discuss some things. Maybe give each other some advice.

I have lost 48lbs and expected it to be more. My fill is up to 6cc now.

    Tell me about yourself!

    Thanks,

    Anjie

  6. Hello,

My name is Anjie. I thought I would write to you since it sounds like we might have some similar thoughts.

I had my surgery on 9/23/08 and I have lost about 48 pounds. I also have a hard time with exercising and keeping food down, cravings etc.

Please let me know more about you and hopefully we can push each other along!

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Anjie

  7. Hi Anjie! Thanks for the sweet comments. Send me a PM if you have any questions. I'll be glad to help you anyway I can. Have a great weekend!

  8. Hi! I had my surgery on Sept. 23rd and I also have gas problems. My doctor told me that everyone is different and it is normal to have gas. I have extreme shoulder pain and that is from gas. I told the doctor about the pain and he again said that everyone is different and it will go away. So I am waiting. In the meantime, what helps me is to drink a lot of Water and I can take Tylenol for the pain.
  9. Hi Anjie,

Sounds like your still doing very well. Yes, I eat allot of eggs, beans, soups, even been able

to eat baked Halibut and Chicken... Yum, Yum... went to a support group meeting last night

as they made a dinner for like 40-50 of us of Pork Tenderloin, Zuccini, Green Bean, a cheese

cake with rasberry topping.. All with low fat or no fat ingredients... was sooo good and allot

of fun. Saw several people that were banded at the same time and all looking so svelt, and

happy... It's great support.. Got many good receipe ideas.. The only advice is keep up the

good work it sounds like your doing everything perfect....

  10. I just wanted to say that you give me so much courage! I had my surgery recently on the 23rd of Sept. Your pictures are amazing!! If you have time will you please drop me a line. I would love to know what your eating and what you were eating when you were in the beginning stages.

    Anjie (Ladybug1972)

  11. Hi there..So nice to hear from you!!

I am doing well. Thanks for asking. I had my first follow up appt. last week but the doc. said that I will not get a fill for another 4 weeks after I start eating regular foods. So currently I am eating the mushy foods. I still eat a lot of soups!! But at least I can have beans, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, etc. Have you tried anything like that? My doc. likes me to push protein also but he also talked to me about fiber to get my digestive system working.

Please give me any advice!!! I am very, very pleased...I have lost 20 pounds since Sept. 23rd!!!!

I can't wait to hear more from you.

    Take Care,

    Anjie

  13. Hi LadyBug! I will help you with your profile if I can, what's your question? How have you been doing? Yesterday was the 1st day that I can honestly say I felt ok. I had alot of pain at the incision sites and gas pains in my chest and between my shoulders. I feel great today, however I get tired after very little activity. Hope you are doing well!

    Julie

  14. Hi Anjie, how are you? Sorry I just saw this. Well I am still on my full liquid and doing pretty good. I will however never eat creamed soup again! I have lost 30 pounds total and I am just so thrilled. Everything is healing, only problem, my port. But I have been told to give it time and try to quit bumping it. Thanks so much for thinking of me. Oct 9 I think I get my first fill. I get to start my next food phase, mushies, after that visit. I cannot wait!

I am so glad I choose this path. This is perfect and I am so pleased. Take Care Debbie

    Help

Hi!! The first two days were difficult. I am not going to lie, it was painful for me. Painful in the sense of just having surgery, I think that is normal. Although everyone's pain tolerance is different. The worst part was not being able to drink for so long after surgery so be prepared for that. Then my first drink, hours later, was the yucky, yucky barium. Now just a week later I am all most back to normal. I notice that I get tired easily so don't push yourself. I also have horrible gas that rises into my shoulder. It is extremely uncomfortable but it passes. I am just trying to be positive overall, looking down the road to be healthy is very exciting!! I have already lost 13 pounds! As far as straining the soups...it is very easy. I have used both a metal strainer that looks like a net for soups with smaller bits. The soups like minestrone and potatoe or broccoli I have used just a regular small colander/strainer. It has been best for me to first heat the Soup then drain it. A friend of mine made me homemade potatoe soup that was delicious and she blended the soup! I hope that helps!! Anjie
