Just wondering if anyone has 10cc in 10cc band or 4cc in 4cc band? I have seen some people who are close but never noticed anyone that was full. Just wondering.

I'm so depressed, I think this was the worst mistake ever.

Does your doctor remove the previous fluid to make sure it is still there before he added more. You should have restriction. At the minimal you need to have another fluro exam to make sure the band is in the right place and working. YOU SHOULD HAVE RESTRICTION. If your MD does not agree. Sounds like you need a NEW MD -
Blue cross blue shield federal basic (live in tx)

I have BCBS FED Basic and was banded on August. I had to have a psych eval because my doc required it. No waiting period. It was billed as outpatient because I only stayed one night. Had to pay 30% of the band cost and a portion of the meds. My bill is 2500. -
I went back to work in exactly 1 week but I don't have a strenous job.

OK. I admit I am a bad patient. I'm a nurse and they say that nurses are the worst patients. I was banded on 8/24 with first fill about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I've always had restriction but got hungry again about 2 hours after eating. Thought I just needed another fill BUT I've always drank some with my meals. (I know the band rules but thought it would not make that much of a differance.) Yesterday I tryed eating without drinking during the meal and then drank water about 1 hour after I ate. I stayed full for soooo long and actually got fuller. I did the same today and it has made a world of differance. Just thought I'd let everyone know who is having the same problem that it really makes a differance.

I also had a hernia repair and that was the worst pain ever-in my neck and shoulders. The pain meds did not touch that pain. My stomach was fine the next day, but I had shoulder pain for over a week. A hiatal hernia repair requires manipulation of the diaphram with sends referred pain to the neck and shoulder area. Also they pump gas in you abdomen for a laproscopic surgery which tends to make the shoulders hurt for several days. These two things together hurt really bad---worse than my two previous csections---probably just because it's an achy/flu type pain that doesn't respond to pain meds. Hang in there. It will get better.

I drank sugar free carnation instant breakfast. It taste great and has 20 gm of protein and you can add fat free powdered milk to increase the protein quantity. It's chocolate so it curbs your sweet tooth. I bought it in bottles already mixed up but it also comes in powder that you add to fat free milk. I got sick of the ISOPURE real fast.

Gee Karen Karen... sounds like you should have never gotten your band and just started eating lettace and running marathons. Wouldn't that have the same end result???

There's something wrong with your band. Thats the bottom line. It kills me how everyone is always saying just exercise more/eat less. You would not need the band if you could do that. You should loss weight if the band if working properly. You may loss slower than someone who runs 2 miles per day and once you get closer to your goal weight exercise will certainly help, but you should be losing more and it's not your fault. Something is wrong with the band. Where were you banded?

I agree the band is only a tool, but it is a big part of your weight loss and it sounds like up definately need a fill. Exercise is great but if you are 250 plus pounds and was eating as much as I was prior to being banded--and your band is tight enough--you should lose weight by simply lying in bed and eat 1/2 of what you ate before. This is a new way of life and if you want to eat some hamberger you should be able to---BUT 1/2 jr burger should be enough--not 2 burgers. That's my point--your band is not tight enough. If any of us could have gotten our lazy asses off the couch we would not have needed the band in the first place. Self control is lacking in all fat people--thus the band is your weapon and it's got to be working right. I think your doing great. It's hard being you age and going out with friends. Just keep trying AND make an appointment.

Looking for people like me to share their stories.
jleemc replied to Shasta92582's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey, I'm 30 y/o have 2 kids and was banded on 8/26. Weight was 263. I had my first and only fill on 10/07/08. 3cc was placed. I've lost 27 lbs with moderate restriction. Before my fill I could not eat as much but I was hungry again in two hours. Now I stay full longer. I go back NOV 11th for another fill. I look at how much some people have lost and think I have lost enough but then again some people had saline put in their bands during surgery. I haven't had any trouble as far as pain or vomitting. I guess it's going fine. -
I saw your pics yesterday and YOU ARE MY IDOL. You look great. I was banded on AUG 24th and was about you size. It amazes me that I could look as good as you do. About your husband--My husband cheated on me too. I found out when my now 3 1/2 y/o was about 8 weeks old. I was devastated. It never crossed my mind that he was capable of that. I was so engrossed in having a child and with a new baby, I would not have realized it if anyone was even trying to flirt with me. He never really gave me any answers either AND you NEVER get over it. I still love him but not the way I did. I will never completely trust him again. And still if I start thinking about it, I get so mad that I could squeeze his head off--3 years later, I'm still mad. We never went to counseling--though now I look back and think we should have. I stayed because of my son, but I started right then building MY LIFE. It no longer revolves around him. Don't get my wrong, I still love him and we have even had another baby--9mo old. I just think he was being stupid and did not realize what was at stake. I also work for the federal gov and make good money. I don't need him to help me pay the bills. I don't need him to make me feel good about myself, but my boys need their daddy. I've told him and continue to tell him that if I EVER hear of anything again. It's over. I know what what she had that I didn't have--everything he did was perfect and great and I bitched at him to pick up his underware and socks. Men don't realize that the person who the affair is with is not invested in their life. She doesn't care if his water bill is late or if he forgot to pick up milk on his way home. Their relationship has no responsibility. If they were to join lives--they would have the same problems that he is trying to escape in the marriage. Betrayal in a marriage changes the relationship forever. You just need to decide if you can live with it because it never goings completely away, but it does fade. If you can't live with it, you need to just get out of the relationship.

when should i take my surgical plasters off?
jleemc replied to mollycogs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take them off asap. Clean the incisions with soap and water daily. They should have already been completely healed. IF not, you need to see your doctor--soon. -
I got the stomach virus within a week of getting banded. I dry heaved for an hour straight and my band did not slip. If I cough hard I do splint my abdomen by placing my hand firmly over my band. Don't know if it actually helps or not.

Your doing great. 25lbs right? I was banded right after you on 8/26 and have only lost 24 lbs and had my first fill 1 week ago. I'm still hungry but I do have restriction. My MD will do another fill in 5 weeks so your only 3 weeks later than that. Every MD is different.
