:thumbup1:Hi everybody! I have decided to make the switch from band to sleeve. I Have not had the results that I thought I would have. I talked with the surgeon that did the band and he thinks it will be a good thing. He says there are better results with the sleeve. I have a few hoops to jump thru first but I have made it thru them before and hopefully the insurance will be kind and approve this surgery as well.:001_smile: I had to meet with the nut. Monday and the psychological is next Monday. I am excited and scared at the same time.

I would email Gaby and ask her - tell her what you've been doing. I don't think it will hurt you -- I know I that everytime I crushed my pills and mixed them with Water, I threw up. I started crumbling them intead of crushing them and taking them with just a tiny bit of yogurt or applesauce (this was about 10 days out). I know others have swallowed their pills since the day after surgery.
I think it best to go to the source and ask Gaby (or Nina or Renee) and see what they have to say.
Let us know.
I have found that crushing them and putting them into dark choc. pudding works great. It kills most of the bad taste of the meds.

I had my visit Friday with my Dr. It looks as if all is a go for the revision. :cool0: I have to go back on the 23rd of October for another visit. He said that he would talk to the insurance for approval on a revision, which may be a better choice for me. I am really excited. I forgot to ask if he will remove the band and do the sleeve at the same time? I sure hope so.
Some of my friends think I am crazy for going through it again, but I don't think so. Most of them are slim and don't know what it is like to be over weight. We that are, have to do everything we can to become healthy for our selves and our familys.
If you have had a revision from band to sleeve please share any important info. to make sure I don't over look anything. I am a little scared.

Thanks everbody for the welcome. I will be sure to post again on Friday after the verdict is in. :001_wub: Keep your fingers crossed.

Hi everone! I'm new to the forum. :001_tongue: I am 57 years old and was banded last Sept. My highest weight was 278, and that was when I first talked to the Dr about the band. At the time of being banded I was 267. I am now at 244. The surgeon says that I have not lost enought weight for the time frame. :thumbup1: I have tried very hard with very little success. The PA suggested that maybe the sleeve will be a better choice for me. I have an appointment next week to talk to him about a revision to the sleeve. I had labs last week and my thyroid level is up a little. Not sure how this will effect things.
I have been lurking around the forum and am excited about being part of the family of sleevers and making some new friends.

Hello Everyone! :smile1: Like tabbie I am new to the forum. I also have the Realize Band and am not happy with my results.:frown1: I have had my band for 12 months and can't tell a lot of difference in my size. I have an appointment in 2 weeks with my Dr. to discuss the sleeve. I am so tired of everything getting stuck. I am always afraid to go out to eat. I hope this is the answer to my prayers.

Hi everybody! I had Realize Band on 9/15/08 and have only lost 37 lbs. My doc says taking insulin slows down weight loss. I am really frustrated and don't know what to do. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions appreciated.

Congrats! :cursing: on being approved. Surgery time will be here before you know it.:tongue2:

Some of them are pretty good, however, my nut. says that there are not worth the money, because they do not have enough Protein in them for the price.

I had Realize Band in Sept. 08 with BCBS of NC Blue Options and mine was covered after a $500.00 deductable. That was my saving grace.

I guess its true, you do learn something new every day. I also thought it was before. lol

Hi all! Why is it so hard for Women of our age to lose weight?:tt2: I eat very little and walk 30 minutes every day like the Dr. says and I get no where.
I lost some weight before I was banded, then I have lost 18 since my surgery in Sept. 2008 for a total of 32 lbs. HELP!! Any suggestions welcome!

Hi everybody! Congrats to all you loser. Our new life is great. I haven't been as committed to the exercise as some of you but I am improving a lot. I can't afford to join a gym so I hope walking counts and helps a lot.
Since this is the place to chat I have a question that may sound dumb to some of you, but here it is anyway. I'm not real computer savy and am having a problem adding my weight loss tickler to my post, can someone tell me how to do it?:crying:

I agree with the Soup suggestion, and new diet always works. I understand not wanting anyone to know about the surgery. A lot of people think that surgery is the easy way out. There is nothing easy about it.:crying:

Hi BumbleBree, I would love to have a buddy. I am a 57 year old female. Realize Band on Sept. 15, 2008. I too was in a slump for a little while, I am now back on track but could use some encouragement from time to time. Maybe we could help each other. They say that 2 heads are better than 1, let's give it a shot together.

You are not alone, I had Relize Band September 15 and have only lost 24 lbs. I feel as if I don't eat enough to stay alive, and am not losing as fast as I thought I would. I know slower is better, so they say, but a little faster would be nice.:smile2:

Hello Jennifer, :smile2: I have the same problem with chicken. I have found that if I cook it in a crockpot with chicken stock it is super moist and I can tolerate it a lot better. Beef is another problem for me. Any suggestions?
