  1. I'm 4 weeks out from surgery and just had my first non liquid, non pureed food. Ranier cherries. Only 5, but they may have been the most delicious thing ever. Which makes me wonder, everyone. What was/will be your first "real" food?
  2. Sip, pause, sip, pause. I've always been the type to chug a pint of water in about 3 seconds. Drinking after surgery was the hardest thing. I was supposed to drink 2 oz every 15 minutes while awake. I kept a jug beside me and poured water out into a shot glass. The tiny glass helped remind me to take tiny sips. It may take several minutes to get that 2 oz down. I also had a lot of luck in mixing water and sports drink 3:1. Just seemed to go down easier than plain water.
  3. I've had good luck with electrolyte drops, Keto Chow brand, ordered online. Years ago, a doctor unofficially recommended 8 oz tonic water 30 minutes before bed for cramping legs (because of the quinine). Worked like a charm. Of course that's carbonated, but maybe you could shake it up and let it "flatten" first?
  4. I hit 50 and had a bit of a scare over my heart health in the same month. Turns out my heart was fine, but it made an impression. Cardiologist and I had a discussion about how stupid it is that my otherwise good health insurance won't touch wls for any reason. He also brought up that gastric sleeve wasn't as expensive as bypass. I did some research, and found that I could afford it. From the time of cardiologist appointment to surgery was only 2 months. I am exactly 2 weeks post surgery and am doing really well.
  5. Hi, this is my first post, although I've read a lot on here and found so much helpful info. I was sleeved on 7/7/23. During the pre op diet and continuing to present, I find I get colder easily. It's actually kind of nice with it being summer and all. But is that common? And if so, does it last? I've always joked with my students who complain about the temp in my classroom that I have a lot more insulation than they do! Glad to say I've lost about 40 pounds of "insulation" since I started this process in May.
