When I was on liquids only, I wasn't getting in the needed 60 grams either. I was only able to get 2 20 grams drink in and that took me almost 2 hours to drink each shake. The dietician had me add in between meals to drink just an 8 oz glass of skim milk and that added 14 grams of protein along with my 2 protein drinks of 40 and that got me to 54. Basically I was drinking a drink in the morning for my breakfast, doing tomato soup w/skim milk and then a drink for dinner... Thank goodness they have moved me to soft/puree high protein step because I was really tired of cottage cheese. Now my protein friend is string cheese. I was 14 days post op on tuesday and puree foods have restored some of my taste again.
