New month, new surgery...
Lily2024 replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ouch, I'm sorry to hear you're so miserable and dealing with financial consequences on top of the physical and mental impact. I sincerely hope you get to feeling better, that will make all of it easier to bear. Virtual hugs......Just because you are a badass doesn't mean it doesn't suck, please try to find ways to comfort yourself, maybe body lotion, favorite pajamas, candles, water sounds, anything that feels good. -
I'm up on January 3rd! Also excited, nervous, scared of what I'll feel like, scared I'll have the surgery and do everything right and still stay stuck at my current weight.

Not sure what’s going on—10 days post op and feeling a feeling…

I just want to add that it's okay to feel good and bad about a single decision. This is one of those things that has good and bad aspects to it and just because it was a "choice" doesn't equal no feelings about the stress of it. I think it's going to feel like dropping myself into a foreign country where I don't know the culture anymore and I'm prepared to give myself grace with it. I think it's a good idea to share here and just get hugs from the people around you who care but don't know how to help right now? I hope you heal quickly. -
So I have updates.....

Congratulations, so well done. Your resilience is epic, I hope you know that. -
My surgeon is booking 3 months out. I guess it just depends on how busy the surgeon is?

I'm scheduled for RNY January 3rd. My concern right now is that I'm able to work out pretty good every day, and getting stronger, more lung capacity for swimming. I'm worried that the 2 week liquid diet and the following months of low calorie will really interfere with this progress. Any advice on how to manage it in a practical manner? I was thinking possibly higher weights, lesser cardio? Right now I'm walking with handweights and swimming laps for an hour.

I'm doing a 2 week liquid only diet, and clears at that. My BMI is lower too, but the program just has everyone do it, across the board. I don't really mind except that my liquid diet starts December 20th. Actually, that might be fantastic, no temptation for Christmas and New Year's treats. Limiting myself to one cookie is not my forte. If I don't eat any at all, it's much easier to watch other's eat it and not feel sorry for myself.

Sugar free cocoa mix with fat free milk, sugar free chocolate pudding, sugar free fudge pops.......I can't eat chocolate anymore because of several issues with my GI system, but these I can tolerate and enjoy.

Sleeved in March; Is My Progress Done?
Lily2024 replied to BrandiBird's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm pretty sure I've read in several places that it is expected that you will lose slower after 6 months, and that you can expect to lose the same amount again but over the next year. So if you lost 80 pounds in the first 6 months, then it's possible you'll lose another 80 pounds but over the next 12 months. Even if it is already 70% of what you want to lose, then you're likely still going to lose a decent amount more. -
Oh no!! That's awful, feeling sick and missing vacation, all of it. Hope you feel better soon and can reschedule your trip.

This last 50 pounds is the bane of my existence!!!

It looks like you've lost 30 pounds since your revision about 3 months ago. So the scale is moving, just slowly? I feel for you, wish I could give you a hug and tell you to your face what a badass you are. -
Thank you for sharing this, it helps.

Music is my go-to to manage all different kinds of emotions. I have playlists that I have for times when I'm sad and want to sing along and cry it out, angry music when I feel frustrated and want to scream it out, soothing when I'm anxious, etc. Some people write it out, walk it out, clean it out, talk it out.....
