  1. congratulations on deciding to make this life change decision. being banded was the best decision i personally have ever made!!! my friends were very supportive even though they may have not thought i needed it. i am 5'8'' and was 242 pounds--i was banded 06/20/2008 and now weigh206---lost 36 pounds in 3 months and i feel great!!! last night i went out and had to actually roll the waist down on my jeans cause they were falling off!! did you ever think you could say that!! you will--banding defiantly works, you'll start excersing and feel guilty if you miss a day. i have only thrown up a few times due to not properly chewing my good----chew,chew,chew thats the trick. good luck to you..ps....my teeth look great along with my now thinner face!!!
  2. don't be discouraged, you'll make up for it next week when you weigh in. are you scheduled to get your 1st fill yet??? usually 6 wks after your banded they can fill you. i was banded on 06/20 and lost 36 pounds and still not feeling full so i am going for another fill in 2 wks. good luck and keep working hard and don't be discouraged...
  3. for me this was a easy decision, lap band is much less invasive and and fewer side effects. Recovery time is 1 wk compared to months of unable to eats solids and throwing up. I am 3 mths post surgery and have lost 34 pounds and look and feel great!!! Lap band was the best decision i ever made and i am now happy with myself and looking forward to looking and feeling better every month. Good luck and read all you can about both procedures and choose the one right for you!!

    life after being banded

3 mths post band and i feel great, i have lost 34 pounds and have so much more energy!! i can see my feet, my pants are loose(i never thought i would get to say that!!) and i can't wait to go shopping for fall clothes and get out of my baggy sweatsuits!!! i will be able to buy a size 14 right now and not a 16 that is way to tight that the zipper won't go up.lap band has put the smile back on my face and given me the confidence that i lost!! good luck to all!!!!!!
  5. great job!!! keep up the good work and continued success!! were u banded if so how long ago and how much did u loose?? i can't wait to look that happy with myself!!

  6. wow- you look like whole diff person!!! i can't wait to get to that point..47 pounds to go.. thanks for the inspiration

  7. i can't wait till i go under 200, another 8 pounds to go then 40 from there. its nice seeing others success pics!!! continued luck

  8. going to a nutrsionist is a great start!!! you have to check with your doctor to see if medicaid in your state will cover the surgery. lap band is a great procedure to have done because it is a much less invasive surgery and quicker recovery time which you will need awith a 5 yr old child at home. i was banded 06/20/2008 and have lost 33 pounds so far. i feel great and have had no complications with the exception of a few episodes of vomiting because i ate the wrong foods. you will learn what you can and cannot handle with your new smaller stomach. good luck and continue looking into the banding process!!
