Hiccups, getting sick and food stuck

I had the same problem for 1 week after i got my band tightened--i couldn't even eat 3 teaspoons of oatmeal without vomiting!!! The hiccups were really bad too!! I went back to surgeon and he took 1/2 cc back out and my problem was solved instantly... Good luck.... -
I HAD MY FIRST FILL UNDER FLURO AND IT WAS A LONG DRAWN OUT PROCESS OF GOING TO THE OR. AFTER THAT FILLS WERE DONE IN THE DOCTORS OFFICE AND IT TOOK A WHOLE 5 MINUTES--VERY SIMPLE AND QUICK..GOOD LUCK TO YOU-----IRISH:thumbs_up:

it took me a good week before i felt back to normal so hang in there each day gets better and better. at first i thought why did i do this and now 5 months later and 50 pounds lighter i am so glad that i took control of my life.i:thumbup: look and feel great!! good luck to you on your new journey!!!...irish -
hi sylvia, i'm at a stand still again, i had another 1/2 cc put back in and no restriction at all unless i try to eat bread. i think i'll wait another 2 weeks and go back. i'm at a total of 46 pounds and it feels great to be in a size 14. of course i still wear my 16's and love all the room in them!!!! i hope your kids adjust okay with the divorce--i know it must be hard on you and them--hang in there!!! how old are they?? my boys are 15 and 11 and keep me running, my husband lives in ohio and comes home every other weekend so i know how it is to be a single parent and its rough!!! i've been doing this for 2 years, unfortunatly this is where his job is and the bills gotta get paid.. talk to you soon...kelley

hi, i used dr balsama at umdnj in stratford. he did a wonderful job and the staff is great!! i have lost 46 pounds in 4 1/2 months and look and feel great!!!!!! i work in the medical field and dr balsama is also doing a couple of patients that i recommended him to. good luck to you in your decision, i hope all goes well for you.

congrats on your 70 pounds!!! try weight lifting along with your excercising!! i have lost 44 pounds and no flab yet. i think because i go to gym 5 days a week and lift weights to build muscle tone--this has really helped for me----good luck---irish

if the weight is going back on why would you want to be unfilled???? since he took uot 1cc i have not lost a pound in 2 weeks--first it was too retstricted, i couldn't eat and was throwing up eveything i tried, now no restriction and haven't lost a single pound. i guess we just have to find that happy medium!!! good luck to you. i am going to ask that he puts 1/2 cc back in so hopefully i can eat and get that full feeling. its been since 06/20 that i had my surgery and i just haven't found that right fill. i have lost 44 pounds so i am happy about that but i been eating more since he unfilled me......

if you are losing weight i wouldn't worry about it. i had to have saline removed because i to was feeling too much restriction that i could not eat at all and puking everything i tried. it would take me 45 minutes just to eat yogurt and oatmeal wouldn't even go down. good luck to you and if you losing weight continue with that, you don't want to be too restricted...irish

Thanks for the helpful hints, i also pack a hunts sugar free choc pudding foe work when i get hungry, that takes the place of my ice-cream craving. Also, try non fat vanilla yogurt with bananas cut up---yummy snack.. Good luck to you on this wonderful journey. I am 43 pounds lighter after 4 months and feeling great!!!irish

Don't worry if u have your surgery in january you will look great by the summer. I am now 4 mths postop and have lost 43 pounds!!! What a great feeling when people tell you how great you look!!! I actually had to roll the waist of my jeans down to hold them up instead of lying in bed trying to pull the zipper up. I have another 37 pounds to my goal weight of 160, i'm 5'8" so i think that is a realistic weight. Good luck to you and your surgery will be here in no time. I know the anxiuos feeling, i had to wait 6 mths till i finally had mine!!! Hang in there....irish

congrats on your 58 pounds!!!! that is great!! i too wanted a fill after losing 40 pounds in 3 1/2 months, i got 1cc put in for a total of 3cc's in my band. yesterday he had to take 1/2 cc back out due to throwing up and unable to eat anything solid in a week. i felt terrible, eveything got stuck and had pain in my chest for atleast 1 hr after eating oatmeal,andyogurt, forget solids they wouldn't go down. i was able to eat soup yesterday and feel so much better. i think losing it slow is better. it took along time for this weight to go on so have patience and keep up the good work. you don't want too much restriction its not worth it!! -
congraulations and keep up the good work!! exciting isn't it??? it feels good to go to the gym and see results!! i was banded 06/20/08 and have lost 43 pounds so far. i weighed myself today and finally under 200---haven't seen that in 12 years!! good luck to you in your new venture---irish

you can get alot of good info from this web site and peoples own personal experiences. read alot and write down all ques.i would def ask how many of these surgeries he has performed and how successful were his patients. ask what to expect the first 3 wks and when can you get your first fill, how many cc's will your band hold. i waited 6 wks post op. is this performed in the office or do you have to go to the or?1st fill i went to or, now i will have it done in the office. this is the best thing i ever did and have no regrets, i actually have to fold the waist to my jeans down becasue they were falling off me. 40 pounds --banded 06/20/2008. good luck to you....irish:thumbup: -
denise,defiantly call your surgeon, if its bleeding their could be an infection and you may need to go on antibiotics..good luck and much success..irish

i'm from jersey but you could call local surgeons in your area and ask the receptionist if her doc does fills that way...good luck..irish

congrats on your banding!!!! i also skipped a step or two, i thought i was gonna chew my arm off on liquids!! i stayed on them for 1 wk, then my doc said i can introduce purred foods.i was big on mashing up bananas with non fat vanilla yogurt, this took the place of eating ice-cream everynight, i am 3 mths post op and still have that snack for breakfast or night snack and have lst 40 pounds so far. i never had the pains your describing but i would put a call to your surgeon and see what advise he can give you..best of luck....irish

just like you i enjoy my saturday night coctails!!! i have not been able to drink my beer anymore--it just won't go down and boy do i miss it!!!!i can however have a few glasses of white wine.i keep emperimenting to find the perfect one. big difference from my miller lights but i'm adjusting. this has defiantly been worth giving up beer, i was banded 06/20/2008 and have lost 40 pounds so far and i feel great!!!! good luck to you----irish

i never had the pain your describing but if it is that bad you really should call your surgeon and explain this to him, he may suggest you go to the nearest er. good luck to you and i hope you feel better....irish -

thanks for the web site-very informative and helpful. i am going for my 2nd fill next week so hopefully i will get that full feeling.i was banded 06/20/2008 and have lost 40 along with biking every morning and making good choices but i still feel hungry most of the time. thanks again...irish

tyler, you can try over the counter stool softeners which will help you go to the bathroom. if your not in pain stop your codeine, that can defiantly cause your constipation.. good luck to you....irish -
now is the time you ned to find a surgeon in your area that performs lap band surgery. you sound like you need to have your band replaced which is one of the nice things about having the band you can always get a fill to tighten it or in your case is sounds like its defective. good luck to you and i would defiantly jump on it now before you gain any more back. keep me posted:...irish
