    ******HELP***Desperate*******

I would def get a fill!! But don't freak out. Even if you're at 5cc. I took me 7.2cc to get good restriction. And once you get it, the band will keep you from overeating. Unless you push it, but that will be painful. Just get a fill and see how you do

    ? about weight loss

I once lost 4 lbs overnight, I don't know how I did it either. Our bodies are a mystery, lol

    The "C" word: Constipation

I have the same problem from time to time. My nurse said I wasn't getting enough fiber now that my portions have reduced. I got some fiber that you mix in your bottled water, can't taste it and it definitely helps. I try to drink one a day.

Watch your calories, drink lots of water, and lots of cardio. Always works for me!
  5. Aw glad you're doing well. Yeah I was so excited to get to mushies! Mashed potatoes never tasted so good!! Im doing great, down 35lbs, whoo hoo. Now that I finally got some restriction it's coming off alot faster ;)

    I'm DYING over here!

If you can't keep down ANYTHING, I would def go back asap. But sometimes mine does loosen a little after 24-48hrs. Just don't go too long. My aunt did that, she thought it would loosen and waited like 5 days, she got severely dehydrated and very sick. Finally she went for an unfill. Even half a cc can make a big difference.

    Texarkana Bandsters

Good luck with your surgery emurphy! I went to Dallas too, cheaper, lol. Haven't been on here in a while, just wanted to say hi and hope everyone is doing great and losing weight!! After 6 fills I'm finally seeing some results, I'm very happy!

    Snacks?

I eat snacks definitely. But I try to make good choices. Like 100 calorie snacks, or a small weight watchers ice cream, apple slices, sugar free fat free pudding and jello are good too.
  10. I was right at 300lbs when I went for my first consultation. (gosh, i think thats the first time i've admitted that). I can't even think about the 100's yet. I know I'll get there, and you will too. But I try to focus on smaller goals, like 10lbs at a time. If I think about how long it'll take me to get to my ultimate goal of 175lbs, I'll be depressed every time I get on the scale. lol. I've lost 33lbs, I just get excited everytime I go down a number, from the 290's to 280's, now I'm in the 260's! yay! Good luck with your surgery!!
  11. If there was any way to wait longer, I would. But if you can't I would at least go a size or even two down. If you've lost 45 so far, thats great, and you'll prob keep going. Maybe a size 14? Then if it was too small you could have it let out a little, or if it was too big it wouldn't take much to take it in. Just my opinion. But I would say definitely order it smaller, whether it's a size or two down. Congrats on your engagement!

    Twenties NSVs

I had a NSV a couple days ago! My mom, who is super skinny, has never been a "complimenter", lol. Never has really told me I was having a good hair day, or she's ever noticed when I've lost weight before, yada yada. But she's awesome anyway. So, I went out of town for 2wks. She came over when I got back, and when she walked in she said "Well hey there SLIM!". And I just said hey and walked into the kitchen, she followed me and said again "how's it going slim?". I guess she wanted to make sure I heard her. She said she could really tell I had lost. I was fighting back the tears cuz my mommy called me slim! haha. I loved it!

    girls night out

Can we not drink alcohol, or shouldn't drink?? I don't remember my doc saying anything about it. I know I probably shouldn't due to calories. But should we not for other reasons?? I have a girls trip planned to New Orleans at the end of the month, I was planning tossing back a few! And I understand your embaressment, I feel the same way, which is the reason I haven't told everyone I had the surgery.
  16. "Fills" are when you go to the doc and have them put more saline in your band. Bands will hold up to 10cc or 14cc of fluid. The more saline you have, the more restriction. When you have the surgery, the doc might put in a couple cc's of fluid, depending on the surgeon. So you have to go back every few weeks and get some added. I've had 6 fills, and have 7.3cc. It took me 5 fills to get good restriction. Most docs give you 6 months to a year of free fills.
  17. It's still early, don't worry yet! Happens to us all, the beginning is hard. Which is why it's referred to as Bandster Hell! lol
  18. My aunt also had the surgery, and she's 52 yrs young. She also didn't have major health issues, but she did have joint pain and arthritis. And yes, as you get older it's harder to lose. She's 30lbs down and already says she feels so much better, whether it's playing with grandkids or just walking up and down her stairs. It is a very personal decision for everyone, and if it's not for you, then it's not. No doc should pressure you. But don't think you're too old! If your weight doesn't bother you, then don't. But if you think being lighter would improve your life at all it might be something to think about. You do have another 30-40 yrs ahead you! ha Good luck with whatever you decide!
  19. I was freaking out too! When I had my first consultation with my surgeon, they scheduled my surgery for 2wks later and put me on liquids that day, I was not expecting that! After about a week I cried to my husband about missing food, and how I could never have anything good anymore and I didn't get to have "one last day" of stuffing my face because I was put on liquids so soon. I was very upset, as sad as it sounds. But I got over that very quickly after the surgery. I can still have my fav foods, just in moderation. And I actually don't crave the "yummy stuff" like I thought I would. Your husband will understand, once he gets his band, there is a change in your thinking and you want to do the best you can with your band! You can put down more than a few bites, he will be satisfied! And what is the 10-10-10 thing you talked about?
  20. OMG, I just realized today was the day!! Let me know (when you feel like getting on the computer, lol) how it went! I'm so excited for you! Hope you're taking gas-x and getting lots of liquids and rest, lol. Here's to a speedy recovery!!

  21. I was banded aug 25, 08. was a slow start, took me a while to get restriction, but i'm on a roll now!

    :)

  22. Yay! Congrats on the date! It'll be here before you know it

  23. Hey there! I had my surgery with Dr. Veninga at Trinity Medial Center in Carollton. Good luck with your surgery!

  24. I've lost 30lbs so far, yay me! I was slow getting started but it's picking up now ;)

And we're all here to support each other, I'm here if you need anything!

  25. Awww I hate to hear all the bad news!! I know what a let down it is to think you can have it done and then be told "uh, no, nevermind". It sucks. I really really really hope it works out for you. Keep me posted! I'm doing pretty good I guess. Just trucking along, weighing myself every day, lol. Keep your head up young'un! ;)
