Myself and my friend are going on the 23rd oct banded on the 24th. Trying to keep to my pre op diet at mo, struggling a bit.

I must say i am getting a little nervous about it all, I have come in to work today and everyone is asking me if i saw the news last night (which i missed) but have read about in on the web but still didnt realise it was dr chris's patient. I know everyone is well pleased with him on the forum but just getting a bit scared.

Going to brussels two weeks tomorrow, lots of things running through my mind at the mo and was just wondering about insurance, should i have any , if so what type and how much can i expect to pay, any suggestions would be appreciated.:tt1:

I'm also being banded on the 23rd october, started my pre op diet today,I think i will have slimfast morning and lunch and healthy meal in evenings but easier said than done i'm starving. I just wish the 23rd was tomorrow.

Are you starting on your pre op diet soon? I spoke to Tullia this morning and she told me to go on a low fat diet for two weeks. Are you getting a little nervous now?, I think about it all the time Im sure i'm getting a bit of a bore to all my friends and family.

i keep on reading about this pre op diet, whats that all about? when will I recieve details about it as my op is the 23rd oct.

hi, just to say i,m going to brussels for my band on 23rd oct to dr chris flying from heathrow.

Hi my name is jo, and i'm awaiting my op at the end of oct 08 in brussels. In 1998 I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease and at the time was very poorly, but fortunately I have not had any symptoms since and have not taken any medication for a number of years and feel well. This morning I was reading a leaflet about gastric bands and it specifically stated that anyone with Crohns should not be fiited with a band. I have informed the clinic about my condition and they say its ok but i,m nervous now instead of being very excited. what should I do? :rolleyes2:

thank you JWRN i,ve just done a search and found several people with crohns who have lap bands which have made me feel a little more positive.
