  1. Happy 51st Birthday sharnut!

  2. 3 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 3rd Anniversary sharnut!

  3. My surgery was in 6/08 - I have had many periods of time when my body played with the same few lbs....I also have about 50 left to loose - I just keep the faith & changing up the workouts....it will come off - just testing us more!
  4. Erin - Maybe you can find someone to talk to @ a support group - I'm 14 months out & love group! Remember - restriction is not always pleasant - but it's what you wanted when you opt'd for the band. You have to relax, give your body time to heal and let the band work for you. The band's not a magic pill - but it will work for you if you allow it to do it's thing. Good luck

    Not Sure What's Happening

I wouldn't opt for an unfil quite this soon. I've had one unfil - but restriction was so bad that I couldn't swallow - it's a learning experience but you want the restriction you've got - It's just not always to deal with "not being able to eat like we used to" Eat slow and chew well - things will give some with time.

    Hint for drinking soda..

Please remember that you're not helping your weight loss journey by drinking soda. Dr's tell you to stay away from it for a good reason. I suggest finding somthing healthy to drink. ............hurting yourself in the long run!!!!

    Tighter In he morning

Yes - It's normal to be tight in the morning. When you lay down the Fluid in the band....is able to move around and does get tighter. I've found that my morning coffee helps it to loosen some - so I can eat a piece of cheese or somthing small for breakfast. Don't do like I did @ first & skip breakfast - need to get metabolism moving early in the day. Good luck......tight in the am means things are working!

    Scared!

Hi Tish, Please remember that this is going to be a long journey - yes the scale will still go up & down - I'm 14 months out and still am surprised @ the scale - I usually play with 2 to 3 pounds for a few weeks, then the number drops a couple of lbs & the game starts again. Once you find the restriction it gets easier.....but you'll always have the I want's........ Good Luck
  9. I really struggle with eating in the morning as I'm so tight....but I have been eating a piece of "Laughing Cow baybel light cheese. It's the one in the white - It's great for breakfast or an on the go snack. 50 calories and 6 grams of Protein. Good luck!

    Who measures food?

My eyes are "way" bigger than my stomach. I pack most of my food ahead in small glad containers (1 cup) - It's a habit now...packing lunch usually take a full cup & eat half of what I've got for the day. At dinner I don't measure - but it's nice to have the guideline of the smaller container.

    Hello.....

Make some healthy chilli (then blend it) spice it however you like - I ate almost everything I wanted to....just put it in the blender. Loved Chicken pot pie (homemade) with no crust.....sheppards pie....they are great once they are mush. Still have the taste....just different texture. Good luck!!1
  12. I used to mix unflavored unjury with instant none fat choc pudding....just added the unjury scoop to the milk before mixing it with the pudding. It really helped me the first few months after surgery. Good luck
  13. I've had 8 or 9 fill's & one unfill (never have been numbed) It's no biggie......just part of life w/ my band!
  14. This is a long journey!!!! Way too early to get upset, you have to give body time to adjust and heal. I was banded in June 08 (24th) but it wasn't until fall that I finally found good restriction. The pounds come off very slow...and yes I want faster weight loss.....but I choose this surgery over bypass - I've lost about 60 lbs in a year & by next June hope to be @ my goal. Good luck, give the band the time it needs & work with it, not against it. Getting upset over the scale will not help, can even hinder your success.
  15. I'd suggest - getting on the scale only once a week!!!! It's way too early in the game to bring yourself down.
