    JUNE SURGERY BUDDIES

It’s probably a mix of needing more of everything. More protein, more calories, more carbs, more electrolytes.

    JUNE SURGERY BUDDIES

I’ve been fatigued too. I wake up pretty energized and then by the afternoon I’m sleepy. Granted, we had family here right after my surgery and we were running around everywhere. Normally, I could walk at my son’s baseball tournaments just fine, but going from the parking lot to the field had me a little winded. I don’t think I’ve fully recovered yet. Plus, the minimal calories doesn’t help.

    So so angry!!!!!

Awwwww man. I’ve never responded to your posts about your acid reflux issues, but I’ve read them and I was really, really hoping the revision would immediately bring you some relief. It stinks that it still seems to be a problem, but it’s early, right? Maybe a little time? I hope something works for you!

    Restriction

I think I’ve read about the slider foods like crackers being an issue for people because they go down so easily and they can eat quite a few of them.
  6. I started sleeping on my stomach again around 4 days post-op. My neck and back were so messed up from sleeping upright and I just couldn’t do it anymore. I had to turn a little slower at first, but no worries at all now (two weeks post-op).

That sounds so good. I’ve been craving vegetables too. I can’t wait to eat them.

Aw that’s a bummer. Yeah, mine said 7-10 days before swimming, but I waited the two weeks just to make sure.

    JUNE SURGERY BUDDIES

I went to my first post-op appointment yesterday. It’s been a month since I started my pre-op diet and two weeks since surgery and I’m officially down 31lbs. Yay! He said my incisions look good and I finally went for a swim yesterday. I’ve been missing the water. I’ve also gone to the chiropractor a few times and she has really helped with the after-surgery tight muscles. The adjustments have calmed my digestive system AND lowered my BP too. Highly recommend if you have access to one. I started changing up my protein shakes a little as well. Dropped some PB2 powder, half a banana and collagen into my Premier chocolate this morning and it was delicious. A lot of folks say everything is too sweet for them after surgery, but I still looooove my chocolate. Apparently, I’m not one of those people lol.

    blood pressure

Mine has been elevated after my last two surgeries (c-section and sleeve) as well. I don’t know if it’s the trauma the body has gone through or what, but it seems to slowly decrease with time. I ended up getting back on BP medicine temporarily because it felt a little too high for my liking. It’s sitting pretty normal now and I’m hoping it’ll continue going down enough that I can stop the meds.

Weak Bariatric Vitamin Brands? Doesn't Make Sense...

I found Barilife one a day bariatric chewable vitamins and they had quite a bit of good stuff in them. I haven’t taken them post-surgery yet because it is too early, but the flavor wasn’t bad when I tried them prior to my sleeve. They upset my tummy a little, but I think I just needed to eat something first.

    JUNE SURGERY BUDDIES

Yay a fellow Texan! I’m up in north Texas. I had my surgery in Plano, but that’s about an hour from where I actually live. I guess that amount of weight loss is normal? I started at a slightly higher weight not too far off from yours so we seem to be tracking about the same, but I bet you’ll pass me up soon. From what I’ve seen, the weight falls off of men a little faster. This week has been slower so far. I’m down about 5lbs. Food is still going okay. I’ve had yogurt, strained soups and a tiny bit of pureed beans. Nothing crazy and only very small amounts. I’m able to finish my protein shakes and I can drink around 65-70oz of fluids for the day. You’re so lucky you get to eat eggs. I’ve been craving them. My first post-op appointment is next Tuesday. Maybe he’ll let me then too.

    JUNE SURGERY BUDDIES

I’m new to posting, but I’ve been lurking for a while. I had my sleeve surgery on the 26th. Surgeon said it was a simple procedure with no complications. Liver looked good, no hernia needing repair. I had horrible luck with my IVs (both were infiltrated), my anxiety and BP were pretty high and I ended up with bad muscle spasms in my back and neck, but I’m a week out and feeling mostly normal. I’ve lost 12lbs and I seem to be tolerating everything okay (knock on wood).

8 mons post op bypass pain under left rib

So you should definitely check with an expert, but is it possible that you have a stuck rib? I get them occasionally and it causes a burning sensation in my side. My chiropractor usually uses an activator to separate them for me.

New annoying, and painful, post op discovery....

This sounds a lot like phlebitis to me. I’ve had it twice before after IVs. They also could have infiltrated your IV during your hospital stay. I’m a very hard stick and both IVs in each of my arms became infiltrated during my sleeve procedure.
