Not yet, Dr just submitted my paperwork this week for approval to BCBS of Georgia. I was wondering myself how long it will take for approval. Good Luck to you. -
Good Luck to you. I am still waiting insurance approval so am not yet banded, but I can't wait. I have also tried to do the preop liquid diet just to get used to it. It hasn't been that bad. So that is a good idea to start on protein shakes and cutting carbs.

I have been trying to do this as well. I am still waiting for insurance approval, but I am trying the preop diet just to see if I can do the liquid diet and also I figure to lose some weight as well. I did good all last week monday thru friday and then over the weekend it was a little rough. But tomorrow is monday and I am back to the preop diet again.

I can relate to everything you have said. I am not yet banded but can't wait until I can live a normal life too. You have taken the first step and now it is just a matter of time. You will be getting healthier and smaller by the day. Good Luck to you!!!

I am not banded yet but been trying the preop liquid diet just to see if I could do it and have found that the EAS carb Advantage is the best shake out there.

Just wondering if anyone used or is using Dr. McDaniel at Citizens Bariatric in Victoria Texas? Just wanted a little insight on him. Also was wondering what his Pre-op diet consisted of? Any information would be helpful. I am still in the process of getting insurance approval.. -

Yes I feel the same way. I actually feel obssessed with this surgery. I still don't have approval from my insurance, I am waiting for the psych eval next week. But I feel like this is all I think about. I am constantly on this forum just reading and reading and reading about it. Then I go back to my doctors website and read it again just in case I missed something. I can't wait!!! -
Wow, that is great you got your surgery date. Congratulations and Good Luck to you!! I can't wait until I get my surgery approved by my insurance. Been doing the 6 month supervised dr visits and waiting for my psych eval next week, then they can submit to my insurance. My fingers are crossed.

I am just wondering what the bariatric conseling session is all about? I have to do an individual and a group session with a psychiatrist. Just wondering what to expect? :biggrin:

I have BCBS of Georgia and was told I have to do the 6 months of supervised doctor visits to monitor my weight and diet/exercise. Then I have to do a group therapy session and an individual counseling session. I have that scheduled for next week. When that is complete the Doctor submits to the insurance and I will see what happens. I will keep you posted on what their response is.. Good Luck to you. -
