Katy, Im sure you look wonderful, foam or not! Im not sure I will need foam though, as Im now 36 DD, but a big push up STRONG bra is definately in order. Im going down around quicker than boobs. I used to wear ( at 150lbs) 2 minimizer bras to feel normal. I would love to end up at a 34B, but that may be wishful thinking! Just like the washboard gal wants cleavage, I want normal, Water balloon(round) boobs. I know I can buy them, but Im just not there yet, so I guess push ups are my best bet. mads

I too stay home and I had 4 year old in preK4 at the time, along w/twin 13 year olds, 4/08. I was in bed for almost 2 weeks and uncomfortable for at least 1 month. I wasnt walking around the block next day and had trouble sleeping(positions), which made days groggy. I had help for 3 weeks with driving, groceries, dry clean drop off/pick up, etc. Since your kiddos are so little, its good to have extra help, it will make recovery smoother and youll keep your sanity  Hubs did much when he came home from work too, dont forget that xtra pair of hands! Shellynnrn: Sit on floor, hold on couch, and I would bring my little one in bed with me and we would watch cars, just be close. My son was just too big for me to pick up, hubbs did instead and I did lots of lap holding. Congrats and Good luck! mads

My Dr. , David Kim, now in Collyville, Tx, charges $200.00. They have new facility and are great at whole system. Was with TLC edge in Plano tx.($100.00), but at around 7cc, kept over/under filling me, not LISTENING and rushing me I felt. Communication is so important  Good luck! mads

Heard about PB, but what on earth is sliming?
maddy replied to KMCD's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
K Some may feel nauseated, I hate to say complete no to that question, but it sort of all happens at once, or soon after eating. Its not like morning sickness or virus vomitting. It really must be experienced for complete understanding. Its not scarey, just a nuiscence(sp) really. You definately wont want to lie down, it all happens pretty fast. After a few times you learn to quit/slow down on food. Small bites help also. For me, I would just wait to eat until I was really hungry and eat too fast, pretty much my fault. It has subsided, but with fill next week , not looking forward to its return. Just part of the whole banding process that was a strange surprise. No worries, youll be fine :tongue_smilie: mad grl -

Jodi what a hoot of a story!! It sounds unbelieveable until your in a tight and get desperate, i.e.its headed up and out asap. Rushing does seem to instigate it and eating too fast from being too hungry causes problems for me. Not sure about the sleeve, you may want to check into it though. Im at 6.4cc and sliming has slowed. I do need slight fill .3, so slime time again......... mads -
Anyone else noticing this?

I wish I could get motivated by the money spent on this, but my husband does the bills and Im not too sensitive in this area. I have lost from 205lbs. to 170lbs. this year and will lose more with time. Im not offended, but Ive lost this same 55lbs+, 3 or 4 times and Im just taking it easy now. Sorry, just not a candidate on money=motivation issue but If I were, Id be S-K-I-N-N-E-Y. Unlucky me mad -

maddy replied to KMCD's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It does get better. Youre at a restuarant and dont want to be bothered, you think it will pass. Sit calmly, here you go, slime time, hit floor running moving people literally out of the way, relief and you grab sink, spit, spit, and spit some more. If return to seat too early, scenario repeat!! Just wait, much drama and fun for all! Just one hoot after another for first year. Now along with your manners, you do lose the weight, thank god, at this point you deserve it. mads -
Heard about PB, but what on earth is sliming?
maddy replied to KMCD's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Theres really no way to explain it. The first time it happened to me I sort of coughed, burped, vomited up small amount of Breakfast burrito out on carpet. Scared husband silly, as it was just up and out really with no warning, grossed me out. I am a girly girl and this is unacceptable to me. So it goes, it does happen less as time goes on, but get ready for some strange happenings. Sliming is like raw egg in your mouth............. you asked mad -

When I first had surgery, family/friends were encouraging. A relative came over last week and saw me >40lbs and commented about patient she knew that had died from staff infection from this surgery! Really? Does my wloss bring out the negative side in her? Do tell! Im not mad, just give me time, Ill just lose-lose-lose,lol!! This talk just fuels my wloss, little do they know. Most people are pretty positive and are waiting to see how much I actually lose and if it works :mad2: maddy S205lbs C166lbs< G145lbs Surgery4/o8 Plano tx

I have fibromyalgia and was almost bedridden until 2 years ago when I was diagnosed w/bipolar and put on lithium. This helped so much w/the depression and fatigue, I am able to be up, dressed, and out w/others 5 out of 7 days(most weeks). The pain is still there, but with most of depression lifted and fatigue at bay (lithium can cause heavy feeling, not tiredness), I am more optimistic about both diseases than ever. When 1st diagnosed w/fib, gp told me to increase salt intake as I woke up exhasted and had low bpressure. This was to no avail. Weight gain/loss hasnt affected pain much, maybe little worse. The cycle of stress, depression, fatigue, pain can be viscious. Antidepressants cause more depression and weight gain for me. Exercise DOES help immensely. It seems to have a negative effect on moods at times, drains my energy(sounds crazy!). Everyone with this terrible disease should never give up looking for correct med or med combo for improved quality of life! I was bedridden until my family stepped in and sought the help/treatment to function normally again. Help is out there. maddy

When I find a sale(Dillards) on jeans, I buy in reg size(12) and pair in next size down(10). Last month bought end of summer jeans on sale at Ds for $11.77 each. I must stop by weekly for sales as I like good clothes(fit better) but hate to pay full price. It has been a struggle to stay stylish w/out spending a bundle shrinking. It seems to take some time. When I was 14/16 went straight to Avenue, hope those days are gone 4ever 4 every one here!! maddy

I take 3 Aleve pills and have even taken DS Anaprox(aleve) from doctor. Ds is actually 4X ovc aleve, double perscription strength. It worked amazingly well. Im not promoting large doses of ovc drugs , just sharing my experiences. Now I do take Aleve, today actually, for pms. 4 hours of relief, give or take an hour. I know this can be debilitating, at least for me it can be, and I hope you find a good med :crying: maddy

My husband completed a triatholon in 2003 and it was truly amazing, but he was very competitive w/his partner, to the point where they would train alone at times(few weeks). Were you swimming in reg pool or had you moved to a lake(mimic ocean) yet? DH partner HATED the swim, ad practiced as little as possible, but he was able to go on and complete triathalon, still pretty good time. Like I said, the wives werent involved, nor would I want to be, as the training was too brutal for me and very intense. We do fine as h/wife relationship(16years), but competition always leaves one of us feeling empty(loser). Where is the tri? Ours was Panama City Beach FL. What is your projected time? Ours was 12 hrs and complete 11:59. It was fun to watch and amazing to see what people can accomplish in one race! Good Luck to the both of you and best wishes for a beautiful sunny tri day! manda

Ladies - What Size Clothes to Cross Your Legs?
maddy replied to JulieNYC's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions

I love ffood! Now that Im filled to a 7cc, its over! Sometimes I can get a small ffry down, but would never attempt burger/fries combo as the pain would kill me. When we go out to eat, its soup/salad, but no to ffood. If I had to eat there, salad would go down best w/ ranch. I do miss fun jk food, but with my band tightening up to 7, things have dramatically changed.

Dont worry. Ive had at least 3 unfills(dr.s agressive) and the last I was really concerned about too much being removed as it was right bfor Christmas. I shared this w/them and they took out .5 and it only lasted about a week, but it was better than removing all Fluid, I guess. Other unfills, I just tried to ride out and it worked once, but other 2 had some removed. Share your concerns w/your dr. and surely they will work w/you, mine were very understanding about situation. Also, I always have amount I would like filled/unfilled in mind and let them know my thoughts on this(i.e. .5, .7, ). I always like to feel as if Im included on this, even if the number is different from what I expect, but not too much. Communicate your thoughts and feelings about not getting a complete unfill, first and foremost, then go from there. Also, when fills were too tight and REALLY bad, I explained it in normal terms, as the dramatic way I felt scared them too much(afraid too much unfill). I hope this helps! Good luck! amanda

What would you like to do/acheive once you have reached goal??
maddy replied to gg2007BandSTAR's topic in The Gals' Room
Be comfortable in bathing suit as we always end up at a beach somewhere for vacations. I also would like the mental freedom to know that I was in control of my weight(practice, practice). It will be awesome to live at a normal weight! -
POLL - Whats your sweet spot in 10cc band?
maddy replied to bunnykin4u's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Im at 7cc in 10cc band and have decided to eat more protein and watch carbs(not cut out completely) more closely. My band is really tight some days (slimfast days) but mostly reallly restrictive and I seem to fill up quickly around the bra line. I dont just drop weight as some do so I am eating more healthy food and its working slowly so far. Ive lost 35lbs. since 4/16 and 170lbs currently. Was hoping to be at goal by 1 year ann. but I just move at turtles pace. It will be worth it if it just stays away for good! Oh, yes, I am hungry at different times of day , other days I have no hunger at all, food or not. -
Does anyone have regrets?
maddy replied to Kelliegurl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My regret was that I allowed myself to get in such a heavy state that I needed the band, regret and guilt......... The band has been very helpful in turning these feelings around with weight loss. I, too, wish Id done it sooner!
