:help:Hello, I was banded in March 2006.I was loosing slowly to begin with only 35lbs or so after 1 year.It got to where I had to much in my band I couldn't get much down.I went to see my doctor, had severe swelling,had to go get another Upper GI to make sure band had not slipped,results were good did not slip so my Doc took most of my Fluid out of my band so the swelling could go down.NOW I have put on about 20lbs in just a few months I feel like an absolute failure.I am going in soon to get a fill but dont have insurance right now so its been hard to deal with.I went through all this I feel for nothing its been very hard,if anyone has any suggestions on how to start loosing again PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know I would LOVE to hear your suggestions.I feel like I just cant get motivated again.I need HELP!!!!! I am so very glad that I read your post.I have not been on here since September because I felt I was the only one not losing weight after taking such a huge step just to lose weight.I was banded in March 06 and have only lost about 30 pounds myself its very discouraging I feel your pain.You got alot of great responses and I think one of them might help me with my problem also.I think I might be to tight because I have a very hard time eating.I would love to have a chicken breast right now,yeah right I wouldn't even be able to get one bite down.So tomorrow I am calling my doctor to possibly get a little taken out.Thank You so very much I hope this helps. Your not alone,I was banded on March 22nd and had a hiatal hernia repair at the same time.After ,I had alot of pain due to the hernia repair but much better now.Today was my first fill finally,Im glad because I didn't have much restriction at all it's a little better now.My weight before surgery was 296 I now weigh 284 not much wish it was more but at least it's coming off.

That will be fine.And it's totally up to you if you can sleep on your stomach,I guess if your comfortable. I know I wasn't. :biggrin1: :Banane27: :biggrin1: GOOD LUCK!!!!

You will be fine.I had a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time so I had a little more pain I think.It wasn't to bad though.I am actually losing pretty slow though I think,but I had a back injury that slowed me down from exercising as quickly as I wanted to.The weight is coming off though I have only lost 25lbs but the main thing is its coming off. Hello everyone ,haven't been on for a while but so far I have lost 25 lbs.I was banded on 3-22-06.I have had 3 fills so far and feel some restriction finally.From reading eveyone elses posts I think I am a very slow loser,I must not be doing something right I guess.My first fill was on 5-17-06 second one on 6-14-06,and third one on 7-31-06.I sure wish it was coming off a little faster.Well if anyone has any advice please feel free to share anything. I have had two fills now and finally feel restriction.I think I might need another one though I still feel like I can eat to much but,I have lost 9 pounds since my fill on June 14th is that good or should it be more?

:cool: :) I had my second fill today finally I feel some restriction.My first fill I got a numbing agent and didn't feel any pain but,the nurse who did it stuck me with the needle four different times she couldn't find my port,she had to have someone else come in and do it ,that one found it right away.Today with my second fill the same thing she couldn't find the port and used five needles this time,finally she called the doctor in and he got on the first try I think Im going to have someone else do it next time.It doesn't hurt but you shouldn't have to be stuck with a needle five different times for a fill. :) :)

Hello my name is Jennifer,I was banded on March 22nd,my weight before surgery was 296,I am currently at 284,I just had my first fill today I wish I was losing faster than I am,getting a little discouraged.:second:

Well I had my first fill.It's been about two and a half weeks and I still feel no restriction I wonder if Im doing something wrong.I read about all these people who have lost 40 lbs or more and had there surgery around the same time as I did.Im trying really hard and I dont seem to be getting very far.Does it get better after the second fill or third or what.Can anyone let me know.:cry :cry :cry :cry

What kind of insurance do you have? I also had a hiatle hernia repair done at the same time and mine came to around 19,000.I didn't think my insurance was going to cover very much but they actually covered 100% so you never know.:girl_hug: :rose: :rose:

I get my fills at Western surgical in Reno.

Dont be nervous,everything will work out and it will all be worth it in the end.Even though Im losing a little bit here and there, I would do it all over again.Believe me you will be happy with the results eventually.You know being on here and being able to talk to people that have been through the same experiences helps me so very much.Just remember everybody is different.And know you will get a whole lot of encouragment from the people that visit this sight.Good luck!!!!:gluck: Jennifer
