Dude I just went through the same crap. I am now at the very close to Sweet Spot. I have lost 21 lbs in 7 weeks. If you hang in there it will work. And like he said be careful cause it friggin sucks when you stuff your face and the band finally works. Good luck Bro.

Questions For The Newly Banded
daveband63 replied to speck's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try the New Whey protein bullets from GNC stores. They are a little untasty but tolerable. They are only about 12 oz if I am correct. But they have 45g of protein each. -
Feeling guilty :(

Thanks, it was pretty smooth sailing for me. I see yours is very soon. I prepped by walking and staying active up until the last minute. Whe you go in they will treat you well. I asked them to put me out without telling me and the next thing I knew I was awake and done. I had a lot of gas but found that sleeping upright helped alot. Move your feet as much as possible as soon as you come out of surgery. I also practiced holding my breath for about two seconds and then slowly exhaling. They had me walking about two hours after I woke up and then I drove them crazy walking all through the night. Use the pain drip button if they give you one. I also reccomend that you take every painmed as directed and then follow all the advice they give you. I sipped water as soon as possible and made sure to chew on ice as it made a soothing sensation during the night. If you have any questions I can only give you my opinion and advice. Good luck with your surgery. -
Hello fellow banders. My name is David and I just had my surgery on Monday 8 Sep 08. I have been really sore but still excited about my new life journey. I have already lost 15lbs this week. I am very strict on following the diet as well as the water intake and vitamins. A little about me. Iam a retired Marine and Army Soldier. I spent 25 years in the military. I fought weight with bulemia, phen-fen, ephedra, many miles of running, and every diet ever available. I decided on lap band after I gained up to 357lbs only two years after retiring from the military. I am now down to 320lbs with the pre-op and post-op eating plan. I will need support as there are times I struggle with anxiety about failing in the long run. Your posts have been my inspiration over the past several months and I thank you for being openly honest about the positives and negatives of the Lapband surgery. I hope to offer insight as well and look foward to success with each of you. God Bless:thumbup:

Feeling Discouraged!
daveband63 replied to dontmissout86's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
hang in there the gas gets to be less. I just had mine on 8 Sep and have been really sore but I have not had the energy issue. I am using the Bullet type protein from GNC (Not the energy ones) and I also make sure to get my water and vitamins. As a matter of fact I seem to have much more energy but I am too sore to workout so I do walk. I agree the liquid diet sucks. But it is part of new journey and remember it wont kill you it will make you appreciate and savor every future bite of healthy food you eat in your successful journey. Just know all of us are suffering with you. If the energy thing continues I would call the DR and get advice. Good Luck. -

Hang in there, I cheated too. I just picked up where I left off and drove on. Its tough and very challenging. I found that drinking water and staying full on the shakes helps. I band on Monday Sep 8th and I am really having difficulty with the diet. But I think everyone suffers on it> Good Luck:)
