My Dr. & the hospital gave me a complete list of meds that I had to be off of at least 3 weeks before surgery asprin was one of those I also had to change my blood pressure med, stop taking Plavax and some otehr meds I was on. 2 weeks after my surgery I was allowed to start them back, Check with your Dr.

  3. :) No change for me I guess the bright side is no gain for me. :tt1:

    I hope I lose something before my fill on Tuesday. I think I need to start looking into slider foods to make sure that I'm not consuming those.


  4. So how is everyone's weight loss going now that you're on regular foods? I gained last week, but I think I'm going to be down those pounds at tomorrow's weigh in. I'm not asking this in a competion way, trust me I'm not that kinda girl.

    Thanks everyone for the Bday wishes. I don't think I'll be down this week I've been feeling big so that kept me off the scale. I did step on it last night and had not lost since Friday ut I didn't gain either. People are telling me they can see the difference. Yeserday I ran into a fellow bandster at work that hadn't seen me since before my surgery later in the morning she brought another bandster to meet me and it was someone I don't know but chat wiht when we pass they both said they can see the difference. Guess that's what matters.


  5. Ok since the last few post have been about eating out I thought I'd put this here.

    The last couple of weeks I've goen to lunch a few times with co-workers (1 day last week and 2 this week (yesterday was my birthday after all) anyway I get the oddest respose from servers when I tell them I don't want anything to drink. The server today said "we don't charge for water" and then when he brought the bill told us that the system won't print a check without at least some kind of beverage so he had to put that I had a Water......has to do with the company thinking the server is giving away drinks if there isn't one on the check.....


  6. You gotta give yourself a little something onece in a while, this tool is a band not a ban. I know the docs and nutritionist have said to lose the weight we need to.....

    Smart choices and protion control are key but cake on your birthday or a drink with an out of town guest shouldn't cause so much guilt.

    But after so long with no sugar I think that little piece of cake messed with my body by the time I got home I had the shakes never felt like that even when extremely hungry, was so tired I took a nap right after dinner and couldn't feel satisfied food wise all night.. didn't do to bad but kept wanting something...probably more sugar....


  7. I had a piece of birthday cake about a 1.5 inch piece maybe 2 inch piece......:thumbup: and a couple spoons of blueberry clobber but figured hey it's my birthday....

    that's the least of my issues not sure if the sugar caused it but I've been hungry since I got home from work...trying to maintain but made chillie for dinner did ok then had a pudding up and a fudgecicle all SF but still....

  9. I was 328 at consut 10/08 I was 288 then day before surgery 4/9/09 and 282 day of surgery (cleanse type of thing) I'm at 269 now. My surgeon recommended I do a program called The Rotation Diet didn't do to well on that in 2/09 I started the 50 Million Pound Challenge and lost very well on it prior to surgery. As far as the couple weeks before surgery I looked at what a lot of people getting surgery around the same time as me were doing looked like high Protein, low carb so I did that a little before my surgery then 3 days before my surgery clear surgar free liquids only by direction of doc and hospital.


  10. Thanks AngieB that was really good info....my first fill is 11 days away I'm anxious and nervous I'm eating less than i used to but probably more than I should. Remember those days right after surgry when we didn't want to eat and weren't hungry....ahhhhh those were the days....:glare:


  11. TMI!!!!! NEVER!!!!!! LOL

    I posted on a thread my issue. During my Mushy/Liquid stage I had very little happening back there and some point I felt like a rock (not really feel it but felt a bit of pain like there was one) in my belly and I honestly think I could feel it move through the track if you will had a business lunch at a mexican restureant hd the refried Beans and a day later felt "the rock" go the rest of the way, all the way. Been fine since.

    Like my turn sorry if TMI but thses are the kind of things that come up with our meal plans.


  12. I've been adding some more solid foods and they haven't been a problem yet, had crockpot chciken tonight and that was a little touchy but fine in the end. I have been getting full from just a small portion of something now that I've added solids.


  13. oh my gosh I started soft foods today - as per the nutritionist and the doc... yah my tummy is so not ready for it.

    First I ate my eggs too fast and thought I was going to hurl afterwards - I didnt but instead I had the worst burbs ever. I am sooo not going to do that again - I am going to eat more slowly!!

    Then everything else feels like it just sits there and is taking forever to go through and I felt nausead. I think it was too much too soon. And I'm on day 16 I think. ESH... going to take it easy and try another day after my tummy recovers.

    I hope this isn't over sharing I had to switch from mashed potatoes to some other foods I added some Beans, cottage cheese stuff that could be mushed.....

    And felt like I could feel something going through my whole digistive system.....like a rock I could feel at every turn.....;) my (excuse me) BM's were not very rewarding and intermittent I took softners, phillips everything gentle. Thursday I was in a meeting on the other side of town with some other people from my group and a customer. They decided to go to Mexican....Yeah exactly what's on my plan :thumbdown: I had mexican eggs and Beans ate about half then had the other half for dinner that night Friday morning that rock passed and felt great since...... sorry if I over shared...I'm told have no boundries...


  14. I've been mostly wandering around my yard and Walmart with the dh and kiddies. I feel so weak and have been taking a nap in the afternoon. :thumbdown: I'm 5 days post op, anyone else feel puny for this long? I'm pain-free which I found weird, never have had pain since surgery. I figure the weakness is low calories and healing.

    Anyone else?

    Yes I was I napped every day till I went back to work and my first full week back was very tired and wish I had made it a four day week.


  15. I've added a little more to my diet this weekend. I put a roast in the crock pot Friday, makes the meat very tender it pulls apart very easily, added some potatoes and carrots and at the end added some green Beans I had. The liquid I used a can of French Onion Soup, a can of diced tomatoes with chilies and a can of beef broth. It was so good and tender!

    Company arroved from Ohio late Friday so Saturday was make Breakfast for the house I did bacon, sausage and eggs I had 1 scrabled egg for myself and one sausage and chewed well. lunch was on the road we stopped at Wendy's and I had a small Chili and part of a baked potatoe. Activities for the day was touring two bourbon companies and had a few sips of bourbon. dinner was at a bbq place I got a brisket sandwich not bun and sweet potatoes ate about half.

    Got on the scale this morning and had some weight loss I'm so gald it's starting again. Thought I did OK yesterday and I think some real food helped get things burning a bit. I don't want to over test my band and will be a bit more guarded what I'm eating for a while but glad the weight is starting to go away again.

    I got long winded and sorry if I rambled.
