    Any Bunnies working out??

I thnk other then walking caution is the word when working out. I had to mow my front yard last Friday 2 weeks post op and my port incision tore a little then I couldn't stand the knee high grass any longer so I mowed the backyard and it broke open again. I saw the doc today and he said it was ok and put tape on it. So I wouldn't start lifting weights or doing zoomba for a while till the incisions are well healed.

Anyone else pain free after surgery?

I didn't have to much pain but took a dose of it at bedtime I have a cat that like to lean against me and it seems like he was always pushing on somthing to make it hurt finished one of the 2 bottles and put the other away for a snowy night....lol
  4. I'm a bit disappointed today I had to stop at the surgeon's office today to get one of my incisions looked at it's a different office than I've been to before and I hadn't lost any weight since I saw him a week ago Tuesday:blink:. I did go above 1000 calories yesterday but that's the first time I've even gotten over 1000 usualy I'm between 700 and 9XX. Anyway he didn't say anything and I know it's a time of helaing...blah...blah just disapointed. Pharmgirl I'm still trying to figure that out myself and also if I'm not hungry but didn't get my Protein do I still drink a Protein shake? All stuff we are learning together I guess. I'm so ready to not be hungry like the week after surgery.....lol not really but......
  5. A few early Bunny Bandsters are stating that their early restriction is gone and that bandster hell has started. In the long run the band is just a tool to help us eat less while eating smarter. Has anyone been planning to use a program or eating plan to assist them or do you think the general/your surgeon's eating guidelines will do it?
  6. I had anintresting thing happen to me yesterday Nick, our dog, and I were out for our walk and one of the neighbor kids said "You look different." I had my glasses on instead of contacts and told her it must be the glasses. Thinking back I should have taken my glasses off and asked her if I still looked different. It was probably a little bit of both wearing glasses and being thiner. I've had a lot of comments that people can see my weight loss in my face.

    Friday Weigh Ins

I'm 5 feet 10 in or 11 in depending on the convenience store I'm coming out of. My first 2 goals are in my signature line after 190 I'd like to se how close I can get to 180. I think I've mentioned before that about 6 weeks before surgery I was using the 50 Million Pound Challenge meal plan and it really helpd me lose before surgery.
  8. In our support group meeting we had a surgeon he sadi at this time we should eat our band protion and it still hungry have a little more. The thing to remember is that we need to take our 20-30 mins to eat the band portion, I 'm having trouble wiht this I still eat to fast and in front of the TV. Now thwe reality it's tough I can get buy wiht the smaller portion but I'm hungry again quickly and I want to graze. Like Scooby says I'm eating less and moving more so I hope that will keep be ahead of the curve.

For those who had surgery about a week ago

It's done.... I had cousins that cooked their hamburgers in water in a skillet. I was thinking of doing it myself so te ground beef would't dry out.

What's Going 2 Keep You on Track?

I've seen some post where people were intigrating Weight Watchers into their band life and when I was at the local support group meeting they mentioned doing a South Beach type plan. I agree with you GB that I've lost and gained on many diets in the past. I lost weight pre-op using the 50 Million Pound Challange but it was a bit odd on sme days. I do like the idea of structured eating plans though when my other half is out of town, road 2 weeeks home 1. Having a plan also made doing food diary easy. Thanks for the input.........
  12. It isn't! But some people even in the medical field put it with plastic surgery and consider it cosmetic. For many of us it was an option that will probably save our lives. My sample my dad had heart by-pass in his early 40's, he finally died in a car accident at 68 when his pacemaker went off while he was driving. My brother died at 43 of a massive heart attack and all of my uncles (4) died of heart attacks. I'm 47 and I had angioplasti and got 2 stints in 04, my BP is very high, I have hereditary high cholestrol. I've treid almost every diet out there with no long term success, my primary care doctor felt this might be the key to my health. So as far as I'm concerned it's not cosmetic:angry:!!!!! But you know what if I get down to the lean 180's I may have a tummy tuck done so I can wear a speedo at that beachs in Europe....
  13. I was on clear liquids for almost 2 weeks I started using the Isopure Alpine Punch not the best tasting but it was OK and mixed with Water, I wasn't allowed milk, but you have to do it in a blender. Cream of chicken Soup never tasted so good after that period oh and the SF popsicles and fudgesicles (probably not allowed for me) reall helped.

    Pureed MEAT???

Man my typing and grammer on the above........ must have been weak from the clear liquids... I plan some veggie chili when I get to mushy phase. Puree the tomato base I use, mush up the black beans, add my spices and some FF Sour Cream...yumo.:w00t: I hope the spice doesn't get me I've read where some people have problems with spicy food after banding

    Clear Liquids - P.U.!!!!!!

I didn't like the broth either I got boulion (sp) and that tasted better to me. The big saver for me on clear liquids was that my sheet said I could have SF popsicles. Hang in there on the other side you will be happy......

Those that have had surgery this week

I didn't have any gas or bloating but BM's are fewer, sorry if TMI, and my weight loss has stalled but it's only been 2.5 days and I know I shouldn't be weighing so much. However I do have some more energy. I go back to work tomorrow and starting mushie foods on Saturday.

    First fills

LingLing keep positive even though we have this tool at our disposal we are still going to have ups and downs. Sometimes the ups are not fat particulary as we start exercising or working out and gain some muscle, most of us are adding more Protein than we have on anyother diet we've been on. I also have to keep reminding myself of this cause my weight is up today from where I was Tuesday (yes I weight to much). Pleas stay positive we need you.

Those that have had surgery this week

My doc was kind of weird about my diet plan. When he released me he specifically said Clear Liquids NO SOUP Tuesday he said cointinue wiht the general guidelines I asked him full liquids for 2 weeks and then mushie foods and he cameback with didn't you get a copy of the guidelines use those........:rolleyes2:. So I went to full liquids Tuesday afternoon and will do those till pobably Saturday, I start back to work tomorrow and don't want any suprises to and from my body at work. Switching from clear to full liquids has already thrown my body in the bandster hell which is frustrating so soon but on clear liquids I haven't had energy to do much so let's hope that I get hat back and start moving more.
