    Sept. Samurai Surgery Check-in

Thanks, you are right. I just really want to get back on track. Exercising is a challenge right now due to circumstances at home, but anything is possible if I want it enough. I want to have more energy. I want to keep up with kids and hubby. I want to be healthier. I want to be strong. I have been kind of a hormonal mess since 2nd baby. Trying to get docs to agree:{} What do you think about the fill? What quantity can you consume? I know the lap-band is just a tool. I just wish it was a powertool! Thanks for your input- Tina

    Ketosis Bandsters

I was banded Sept 2008. Lost 45lbs. Had a baby 3/2010. Got refilled 9/2010. I haven't lost anything. I am still down 40lbs. I started lo-carb two weeks ago. I have had pink-purple sticks everyday. Lost 7 pounds first week. Zero pounds lost this week even with ketosis. What do I do now?

    Sept. Samurai Surgery Check-in

Hey Ladies- I could use a pep talk. I lost 45lbs, then I had my second child. I am still down 40lbs, but would like to lose 40-50 more. I don't get much support from the bariatric center here. They are all about gastric bypass. All support groups and everything are for bypass patients. I am thinking about another fill. I can probably eat 1-2 cups of food a time depending on what it is. I still have restriction. I still throw up if I eat the wrong thing. I have been lo-carbing, no sugar, white flour or potatoes for 2 weeks and have already plateaued. I feel like my metabolism is shot. If I am bad I don't lose if I am good I don't lose, so why be good. Any suggestions? If I get another fill, will I not be able to eat as much? Or have I stretched my pouch? Thanks for any help. -Tina
  7. Hi- Thank you all for the helpful suggestions! I spoke with my surgeon yesterday. He wants to call it seasonal for now. I am scheduled to have 6 month post-op labs done in March. He said he would let me know if they find any problems. I think I might up my vitamins. If it does not get better, I might ask them to move up the date on the labs. As far as the missed periods, he wants me to talk to my OBGYN. It is funny how you would love to skip your period until you skip your period:scared2: I hope it is not peri-menopause. I still would like to have one more baby:wink: Thanks again and I will keep you posted- Tina PS- We finally had a break in the weather and I was able to walk outside three days in a row and get some sun. It did help.
  8. Hi September Samurai's- Please help! I am experiencing severe fatigue, slowed weight loss and have missed two periods. I know, it sounds like I'm pregnant, but I am not. I checked twice. Any advice? I am exhausted! I could sleep 12 hours a night and still need a nap. I am craving sugar and chocolate and I am not exercising. Thanks in advance- Tina

    Sept. Samurai Surgery Check-in

Hey everyone- I could use some input please. I was banded 9/18/08. I have lost 30 pounds, YEAH!:tt1: I have not lost anything for a whole week. BOO!:tt1: I have some restriction from 1st fill, but need more (next fill 11/17/08). I can still eat more than I should but try very hard not to. I am still walking about 2 miles per day. It is very hard to do the things you are supposed to do and not see results. I really need this to work and do not want to get too discouraged. Please help with advice, suggestions or pep talks. Thanks-:smile2: Tina

OK... it's October now, what's happening?

Hi guys- I had my first 4cc fill yesterday. I think it will get easier each time. I was a little more freaked out by the unknown and the rather large needle. Today I feel like I got kicked in the stomach ( sore and a little nauseous). I am on liquid to soft for 48 hours. Doc said I probably would not get a full feeling (restriction) until back on solids. I will let you know. I so hope it works. Tina *Good news* Have lost over 26 pounds since starting the program. Have lost 5 inches around waist without a single sit-up. *bad news* Now I have to start doing sit-ups. BOO!HOO!

OK... it's October now, what's happening?

Hi Gang- I am excitedly and nervously awaiting my first fill on Monday. I hope it does not hurt too much ( I am a wussy). I also it starts helping me to feel full ASAP. I am eating 4-6 oz per meal, however, I still feel hungry. The hunger was a lot worse the first few weeks. You somewhat adjust. Hang in there. I will too. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Tina lap-band 9/18/08 fisrt fill 10/21/08 weight loss so far 25.8lbs
