This is my 3rd day and things were a little better. I found crystal light raspberry green tea today and it was YUMMY! That helped me today. I am sick of Protein shakes though. I wonder if I bought unflavored Protein powder and added it to chicken broth if that would be the same as Protein Shakes?? probably not because it doesn't have the Vitamins. I've just never been a smoothy kinda person, oh well. I am ready for post-op and hopefully these hunger pains will cease for a while!

LOL I wish I would have said something like that! That would have been classic. Thanks for making me laugh like 4 times  -

This woman from my church came up to me and said, "my sons and I were watching The Flinstones Movie last night and you look just like Betty!! Rosie O'Donnell is not someone I want to look like. I avoided her for a long time and the next time I saw her, she said it again! :smile2: Some people . . . -
:tongue_smilie:I FORGOT TO ADD THAT I AM ON Protein shakes AS WELL. I HAVE TO CONTINUE THEM THROUGH THE mushy stage.

I have lost 6 lbs (need to update ticker) since starting my pre-op diet. Not banded yet but here is my "theory" on the weightloss . . . some drs (like mine) are very strict about pre and post op diet. For example, I am basically on Clear liquids (sugar free, lowfat) for 7 days prior to surger. After surgery, I have to do 2 weeks of liquids (clear liquids plus low fat cream soups) and then 2 weeks after that I have to do "mushy" low fat, low sugar. So, basically, I think some women lose ALOT quickly because of diets like this???? That's my theory.

When I get a headache if I drink Water and drink another Protein shake, it seems to help. I have had low concentration and have not been very patient :smile2: with my family. I will have sudden intense cravings but they will go away fairly quickly. I don't see how people can do the liquid diet without the motivation of "getting the band." It is extremely difficult! but I am doing it

I was severely anemic a few years ago secondary to fibroids and I felt the same way you are describing. If I were you, I would get my Iron levels checked. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

I am a newbie and I dont' have the band yet (pre-op diet sux) I can only give advise on what I heard from an experienced lapbander b/c I have no experience with what you are talking about. I was told to eat half of the Protein on your plate before you touch ANYTHING ELSE. Once you eat half of your protein then you can "graze" on the everything. Just an idea . . .

My pre-op diet is very strict. Jello (no red), coffee, crystal light, water, skim milk, broths, 4 protein shakes AND THAT'S IT! But I am trying to do it without cheating, wish me luck The good thing is I only have to do it for 7 days!!!

Only 90 pounds to lose...How long did it take you?

I am set for surgery on 7/2 and can't wait. I have a BMI of 35, weight is at 217, I am 5'6 and I want to get to 130. My sister was banded 4 years ago and has lost 85 lbs (her goal is 100) very slowly. She did not exercise for most of those years but the last 5 months she has exercised 4-5 days a week and has lost 25 lbs :w00t: I plan on exercising . . .:blushing:
