  1. When you have been on liquids for a while, your stomach becomes acustomed to it and when you change things up, your stomach is like WTC ?!?! I think introducing mushies slowly is a great idea, hope that fixes the tummy troubles
  2. IDK??? Are you still losing 1-3 lbs a week? If so, then I wouldn't worry about the amount of the fill.

    What weight loss??

I was in the same boat. I was banded on 07/28 and had only lost 5 or 6 lbs post op. Anyway, I got a fill on 08/30 and am on liquids for 7 days :frown: . . . but there is a positive! I have dropped 7 lbs in 4 days. Hang in there, soon you will get on the scale and see it going down down down
  4. idk if you would want to do this or not but . . . I just had a fill and I have to be on liquids for 7 days. I am on day 4 and have dropped 7 lbs!!!! OMG Anyway, if you can suffer through cream soups, protein shakes (low fat, low carb of course) then heck, I bet you would lose something????
  5. You sound like you are at perfect restriction. My dr said forget about gulping when you have good restriction. He said take a sip, wait until you fill it go down and then take another. Just a thought, are you eating your Proteins first and then your other stuff? You might stay fuller longer if you are doing that??? I would think that you should stay fuller longer than 2 hours with that kind of restriction???? IDK

    Exhausted by 3pm

whoa! if you are anemic, then that is your answer right there. Being anemic will cause major weakness and fatigue. Also, you really need to focus on getting your 8 cups of water in during the day. You will feel better and you will more than likely lose faster as well. Hope all turns out A-OK:thumbup:
  7. If you are sticking to your dr's diet then all should be okay. I know it's scary to not lose more but everyone is different. You might want to call the dr's office and express your concerns??? It might put your mind at ease. Hope all goes well.

    Filled Friday - Question

I don't know about all the technical band "stuff" but it sounds like you are swollen. If you can't keep anything down then you really need to go get checked out ASAP. I was filled on Saturday and I have to do liquids for 7 DAYS!! Eventhough I am hungry and I wish I could eat, I am kinda glad that I have to do liquids for that long so maybe all the swelling will be gone before I put real food in my mouth ??? I hope everything works out. Have you tried hot tea or hot broth to see if that goes down?? Sometimes hot will go down better, Just a thought . . .

    Lost Too Much Weight

umystifyme, No offense to greytz but . . . psychotherapy may be a great tool but the band has proven itself to have much better results for keeping weight off. Most of us are life-long dieters with a lose and regain cycle. I have been on depression meds, etc to try and fight the cycle but I have been unsuccessful. Not to say that you can't "slay the dragon" with some therapy but for most of us, the cycle is only broken by the band. JMHO
  10. thanks for the info gitrdone!!! I guess I need to do some investigating on the boards. Very intesting . . .
  11. Restless Monkey, I have a random questions, kinda. A poster above stated that when she eats too much she feels pain. I am having a similar thing happen. I can't pinpoint exactly the cause as of yet. It is either when I eat too fast, too much, or a high fat food (restaurant refried Beans and queso, for example), I get the dreaded "left shoulder pain" for 5-15 minutes after I eat. This has only happened, say, 3 times, but I am just curious if this is common or what?? Thanks!!

    Now I know why....

Sorry you are upset. I just wanted to suggest that a better place to post to get quicker responses is under "post operation lap band questions and answers" and on "general lapband surgery discussion" boards. In the past when I have posted on my July 09 board, i didn't get alot of responses. Just a thought. I know you would like to lost quicker but 50 lbs in a year sounds amazing to me! Sounds like you are doing something right!!!

    "You weren't that big?!?!"

That is SOOO true! I will definately use that one I feel the same way as you. I am choosing to change my life BEFORE I become morbidly or super obese. How can that be wrong??? I have been steady gaining for years so I know that i would keep going up and up.
  14. Warning TMI -I don't know what kind of inhaled anesthesia I had but I know I had one. A few days after surgery I coughed of this glob of phleem that tasted really "mediciney." It was DISGUSTING!

    scale question...

I'm 3 weeks post-op and have not lost a lb since my first week post-op. I admit it is a little discouraging, esp. since I am averaging 1000-1200 calories a day and walking some. Oh-well, that is how it goes I guess. I will get my first fill on Aug 29th so hopefully I feel restriction???? I guess we will see . . . All that to say, try to stay positive and patient; I'm sure the weight will start dropping soon!
  16. I also had a HH repair and I had no idea I had one. Now that I know I had it, I can recognize the symptoms. I had acid reflux pretty bad and every now and then I would feel a "catch" in my chest. I used to think it might be my heart and I was worried. Now I realize it was my stomach catching on whatever it was herniated into??? (not sure what)
  17. I had a barium swallow but had no fill during surgery

JEALOUS! WOW. you can't see anything
  19. Very cruel! I BARELY made 2 weeks!!
  20. Are you saying you have a 6 week post-op liquid diet???? or did I misread???
  21. Arrived at hospital at 10:30, at hotel by 2:15 and I had a barium swallow

    1 Month Post Op Appt

My 1 month appt is on Aug 29th. I think I will get a fill because I have lost 7 lbs since surgery (2 1/2 weeks ago) and since I started mushies, I have not really felt much restriction. Glad your appt went so well
  24. Teresa, I think the pain you are speaking of is not necessarily due to the HH repair, I think it's your nerve being irritated from the left over gas (CO2). It is very painful. Hope it goes away soon!
