I have to agree with you Jacqui. I would love to eat without paying attention to how well I chew, and have complete abbandon to my food. But that is what got me here in the first place. Its well worth it.

I feel for you. This has been a journey, some good and some bad. I was banded Oct 31, 2008. I have lost 34 lbs. The first 20 was the first month. Then I stalled for a month. I started going to the gym. I lost 10 lbs in 2 week after that. Now I have stalled again. I think we really have to figure out what works for us. I get stuck occationally but it moves through quick. I know when this happens, its because I got in a hurry. I chew my food until its liquified. Sometimes I even add katchup or barbque sauce to my chicken to make it more moist. I take REALLY small bites. My problem is the evening after my kids are in bed. I want to snack. Its usually something starchy not sweet. I know we have to do our part to get this band, what its was designed to do. It is not always easy. I really wish you luck. I think its a good idea to write everything down and take it to the nutritionist and let her see what is going on. I am a impatient person. I want to see the scale move daily. My doctor told me I would lose 70% of the weight I need to. I needed to lose 100 lbs. I think people who get to goal, have figured how to get the band to work for them. I also think it takes more than a year. DON'T GIVE UP! -

Hi, I was banded 10/31 and I feel the same way. I am also having pain with belching. It feels like I have a burp under my band and when it tries to come up, I have bad pain and feels like muscle spasm. Are you experiencing this too? Hanging in there Tammy:redface:

Hi Sherri, They will not put an NG tube down it will be and ET tube. An NG tube goes to the stomach. A ET tube goes down your wind pipe so that you breath durning surgery. I do not think its going to be a issue. Good Luck Tammy

trj61169 replied to outofmymind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't give up. It doesn't sound like your getting enough food. Your body my be holding on to everything. Make sure your getting at least 60 grams of protien a day. Talk to your doctor too. -
Hi, I too am having the band on the 31st. I live in Washington state. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I was a litte reluctant to do it on that day, but I decided to look on the bright side and have a great aniversary date next year! My surgery is going to be outpatient, so I do not have to worry about my family. Just take advantage of being around people helping YOU. We always put our families first. It's all about you for now. Your family will benifit from it in the long run when your feeling better and HEALTHIER! Good Luck!
