My first fill was today as well. I can't believe I was even nervous, it went to good. The worst part was the sting of the numbing medicine. He put in 3cc's My next followup is Dec 16th.

WATER...How many mins before eating do you have to stop drinking water?

My doctor said that I can drink right up to the minute I start eating, but then quit because if you drink as you eat it helps push the food right through your band faster and you won't feel full as long. He told me to wait a while after eating to start drinking again also. -

I haven't tried this, but a friend brings the Crystal Lite to go packs in her purse and orders vodka & water and mixes in her packet. She is hooked on it. -
I know how you feel. I was banded on 9-30 and am only down 14 pounds. I haven't went in for my first fill yet, it will be on Nov 7th. Hopefully that will help me jumpstart the losing. Hang in there.

My doctor told me to call him right away if I think I am getting the flu and he will get me anti nausea meds and if that didn't work, he would have to do an unfill. -
That is so inappropriate. I don't know how I would have reacted. I think my mouth would have dropped and I wouldn't have been able to speak. And she is in MANAGEMENT!!! I think I would file a complaint even if she is leaving.

Yes I have had the same problem. I was banded on 9-30-08 and I don't get my fill until Nov 7th. I am anxiously and patiently (kind of) waiting. -

Marcie, I am so glad I am not alone. We were banded the same day and I am experiencing the same thing. I have to wait until Nov 7th for my first fill. I lost a nice amount the first week, but only 2 the second now none. Kind of disappointing. Hopefully things will pick up after our fills. -

I have had the same feeling since Friday night. I had 2 vodka drinks that night and I have had a weird "bubbley" sensation in my stomach since. -
mrsezova, I was banded the same day as you and I totally know what you are talking about. I lost 11 pounds that first week, and only 2 since. I was so happy after that first week that I was REALLY feeling bad about the 1 1/2 weeks since. I go for my first fill on Nov 7th, so hopefully that will jump start the losing. Good Luck to you.

At about the end of week one, mine started to itch real bad and I got a red bumpy rash on my chest and stomach. It went away on its own. -

I was "put together" with glue two weeks ago. Just fine, Mine started itching a little bit, had to remind myself not to scratch -
Sorry, if I would have read closer, it says you are a week out. I was 2 weeks out as of yesterday. Other than that pain, I feel good.

How many days out are you? I have been having pain in my port area the last 3 days or so. I think it is from sitting too long at my desk job. Just seems that everything gets bunched up in my stomach area. I have to get up and walk alot. Even helps just to stand for awhile.

Hi LadyBug! I will help you with your profile if I can, what's your question? How have you been doing? Yesterday was the 1st day that I can honestly say I felt ok. I had alot of pain at the incision sites and gas pains in my chest and between my shoulders. I feel great today, however I get tired after very little activity. Hope you are doing well!

Hi Marcie, I was wondering how you have been since surgery. Yesterday was the 1st day that I could say I felt ok. I was just in so much pain and had the gas in my chest and between my shoulders. I weighed myself today, I know I probably shouldn't until my first checkup on Tuesday, but I am down 10.2 pounds. It was a very good surprise. I am healing pretty good now, just get tired very easily after very little activity.

I too am leaving for the hospital in 20 short minutes. I am so ready for this! All of the doubts I have beeen feeling in the last few weeks are all completely gone this morning. Funny, I just know I am doing the right thing. Good Luck with your band and I will talk to you later.

Oh, I feel for you. Unlike you, I have only had those relationships where I was used and not the long term commitment. I wonder if after my surgery (my date is tomorrow) people will look at me different and see me as a worthwhile person to spend time to get to know and not just use for the moment and throw away. I know that I should have had the self confidence to not let anyone treat me that way, but my self worth was just not there.May we both have the strength to "start over".Take Care,Julie

Hi Marcie, I was happy to hear from you. I too am excited to start my new life. I just wish that the procedure was over with already. I have never had any kind of surgery, so am nervous.

We have the same date! I get my band at 8:30am on the 30th. I am experiencing the same emotions as you. I really wasn't nervous or emotional until I got my exact due date. Then all of a sudden these feelings started rushing in. Good Luck to you, we will both do fine.

Tuesday is my day to get banded as well. I am so excited, yet nervous of course. I started this journey in early June, so my road has not been too long. Insurance won't cover me, so I am self paying.
