Something that worked for me was to raise the amount of protein intake, and work hard to limit the amount of saturated/trans fat. I went from one protein shake a day to 3-4 protein shakes. Luckily, there are so many wonderful flavors out there.

A quick internet search showed a lot of issues with this doctor and that you are not the only one. I asked friends of mine to warn about Mario Almanza, and they are planning on adding it to the websites they already created to warn about Mexico Bariatric Center (not Mexicali). I'm sorry about your experience, and I thank you for the heads up!

We returned from Mexico around May 5th, 2023. We did not have passports. A real-id drivers license was enough, no issues whatsoever. We were told that a non-real-id license/id with a birth certificate would also be okay, but we didn't try it.

I also had surgery in Mexico. All you need to do is to get a bariatric specialist on your health care to do follow-up. The bariatric facilities in Mexico should also be following up with you. What Mexican facilities did you use?

Being constantly nauseated and vomiting sounds really bad. It would also require you to drink more fluids than is normally required. A friend of mine had a problem where anti-nausea medication caused her to be nauseated. That really messed things up for her. She only stopped being nauseated when she stopped taking those meds.

I definitely gained weight. When I left the hospital, I was still 5 pounds more than before surgery. With all the liquid.s they pumped into me, and being bloated like crazy, it was pretty obvious. But a week and a half later, I have lost almost 20 pounds from that point, and dropping fast.

I have found that having a variety of protei.n flavors helps with the phantom hunger, though you may have to dilute the protei.n powde.rs a bit more. As for your husband, he should know that you don't have to make your goals at the very beginning. It takes time to get there. Listen to your body. Not to some arbitrary values.

I was VERY nervous before the surgery, but it was very successful. I think the main thing is to get a surgeon with a lot of experience. I just figured out how to update my profile. Learning...
