    Exercise and what to do

She FORGOT about a needed therapy after ALL this postponement, all this time?? I don’t know what kind of BS that is. I know you don’t want to rock the boat after all you have been through, but after your surgery, I would file a complaint with a timeline of these these extra hoops she came up with, the things you did and this “ intentional exercise “. That is a big bunch of NOTHING!! Nobody can accurately assess someone else’s intentions, EVER!! She is gaslighting and seems to think ALOT of her telepathic skills…. She might need a mental health evaluation

    My Gastric Sleeve Journey

Had my VSG about 6 weeks ago. I really want to maintain, maybe build muscle. I have had good muscle mass until about two yrs ago. I am now 55 and post menopausal, so it’s a whole new world!!😩. I would love to learn Any supplements, exercise routines or any kind of tip/ trick people have discovered, stumbled upon. I know we are all different, but I love hearing about new things to look into, learn about. There is so much out there now!! Get hormones! Use EEA’s!! The wellness world has exploded and there is a lot of BS out there. Every now and again you find a gem. We are aging so much differently than our parents!! We aren’t taking it lying down! 50 is the new 30!!

    Over 50 sleevers

I has my VGS about 6 weeks ago. I have always had a good appetite, was a chubby child. In my teens through to about 50, I was able to manage a good appetite with a lot of physical exercise and I loved it, loves my muscles. I ran, power yoga, spinning. some weights, never a body builder. I had my child at 35 and that was hard on my body. I had/have a lot of back problems so slowly my running was taken away, then spinning. I managed to keep up. Power yoga routine, but it was hard on me. Went thru menaopause and divorce at 50 and life unraveled. COVID hit and with personal issue I went to work and came home to lay in bed for two years. The weight piled on, muscle went away and I couldn’t find my motivation anymore. I felt like I had thrown away an adult lifetime of fitness that I had worked so hard for and had wanted so badly. I decided to go for surgery because I just felt at this stage in my life, I wouldn’t be able to get back to my previous fitness and weight loss at this age was just about impossible. I had the surgery, did well. I am getting plenty of protein, but all the plans I had for creating a new physical fitness rebirth haven’t gone nearly as well as I wanted. I am not giving up, but everything is just harder. Still trying to find my MOJO. I have lost weight, but maintaining and maybe building a little are my Quest. Getting older, losing your hormones is discouraging. It happens to everyone, but you can’t really prepare and “ be ready” because it’s like having a child, you just don’t know how it really is until it happens. I am really interested in any supplements or tricks, certain exercises routine a anyone has learned. I am trying to focus more on weight training. I have never really like just doing weights. That is one thing I loved about power yoga, it a lot of muscle work without feeling like just doing a bunch of boring reps!!I am researching EAA supplements. Would love some testosterone, but that is costly over time. Look forward to figuring out this journey with this group!!

    What Made You Smile Today?

About the funny thing, it may be he no longer has the situations or comments as a larger person. Also, I know I am more grumpy right now adjusting and learning about what my body wants and needs at six Weeks out..
  6. Is there a tutorial on using these forums? I know, I am from the Stone Age. I mean, I know computers pretty well and use the everyday, but I have never really been a part of a forum. I don’t know how to copy and reply to a specific message like some do. I think I figured out how to find replies to my messages….. Sometimes I am looking at messages and then realize they were from months ago🤪

    Attending school while losing

Good to hear it wears off. I work in an office and went back 10 days out, feeling okay except I can’t believe how exhausted I get! Luckily, they are very understanding. Will be glad when that goes away!

    Isopure

Thank you for all your answers, makes sense and saves me from just throwing it away!!
  9. I have two questions. #1- I went for my two week appt and told MD I was taking multi vitamins occasionally as they make me nauseous. I have been faithfully taking Calcium and B12. He suggested and gave me some patches. The nurse said they work well for some people. Anybody used them? Second question is does everyone get a Medic Alert bracelet or necklace or something? I know it’s important, but I feel kind of embarrassed as it’s not a terrible disease. I am probably being silly, but just wanted some input. Thanks!!

    Isopure

How to get Isopure Protein powder to mix? I tried adding some non flavored Isopure to Campbells Cream of Chicken and it clumps. I used a milk frother to mix it and it just wouldn’t all dissolve. The soup was hot, I thought that would help. Did NOT help. Was really looking forward to being able to add protein to normal food. Eating from Bariatric food all the time gets expensive.
  11. Have you tried taking Devrom? I read an article from an MD who had WLS. You can get off Amazon, it contains chlorophyll and is branded as an internal deodorant.
  12. Hi! Had my VSG May 19,2023. I am looking forward to transitioning to puréed diet. I was told I could have tuna and egg salad. Any suggestions on a mayo to use? I tried to eat Campbells Cream of Chicken, I probably ate it too fast, I experienced a mild dumping. Now, I am worried about the fat in normal mayo. Any ideas are much appreciated!

    May 2023 surgeries

Had my VSG May 19, 2023. Feeling pretty good, walking up to 2 miles at a time at 2.5 to 3.0mph. I am looking forward to transitioning to puréed diet. Looking forward to the journey with my May 2023 buddies!

    ROBOTIC SLEEVE SURGERY

I used to work in surgery, the robot is controlled by the surgeon. He sits at a monitor looking at the site and he uses these hand controls that the robot precisely mimics. It is pretty wild, like Oculus AI. No shaky hands, but the robot can’t do anything on it’s own, so the surgeon is still performing the surgery.
  15. Hi! I am brand new here! I have been looking around the site a little and reading some of the posts. I have never really used any kind of forum so this is kind of a new way to socialize and get support. I am having a lot of emotions, up and down. I am 55, so a whole new lifestyle is kind of scary even if it is a better one! Just trying to be emotionally prepared and I know it’s like becoming a parent, you can prepare all you want and then realize, after the baby comes, you had no idea…
