I don't wash my hair every day now. I wash it on every third day. I use a flat Iron on it with leave in condition. This helps with less of it ending up in the shower in clumps. You would think I was having radiation treatment the way it falls out in the shower.

Needing Tips for having a lapband.
TQUAD64 replied to confusedfairy509's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow! I had to attend orientation meetings, meet with the doctor several times, and nutritionist for 6-months all of which told me what I could and could not do with the band. And that was before I was banded. Every doctor is different. So you will see many variations of what is or is not allowed. The majority of doctors do not want their patients to drink with a meal or after a meal. No drinking after a meal for at least an hour. If there is a specific topic you are interested in, you can use the tool bar at the top of this web site and click on the research link. Let's say you want to know about post op diets. Key in the words post op diet and it will provide you all the threads with those key words in it. Very cool tool! I hope that helps. Good luck. And get your doctor to give you more specific information. -
I started losing my hair during the liquid pre-op diet. I am still losing it too. I track my Protein daily and I am consuming enough, so I am not sure why my hair keeps coming out. I have thick hair and plenty of it, so no one can tell. I was abe to shower on day three post op. That is the day I came home from the hospital.

My doctor has never stated directly to me anything about caffeine, but the office literature I was given by staff states no caffeine. I drink caffeine! I have a cup of tea at home in the morning before I go to work. As a treat, now and then, I have a Starbucks grande skinny hazelnut coffee. 13 grams of protien and 130 calories. Yummy!!! And it fills me up.

Are you banded? And what specifically are you wanting to know? -
My highest weight was 251 wearing a size 22 pants. 32 pounds lighter now and wearing a size 18, which are very loose. I track inches, because I exercise a lot. I am lossing lots of inches in the waist, hips, thighs, and butt. But not so much in the top area.

Why would anyone select a surgeon who places bands into clients only to have to do a reversal later? Makes you wonder if this doctor is qualified to insert a band.
-
Amazing. Nothing like being told you can only half way succeed. Your stronger than that. You can move your weight down the scale as far as you want, because you will the band and lots of support to go with it. There are so many people on this site who are succeeding and you will be one of them. Don't let your doctor rain on your parade.

What happens at your pre-op appt.
TQUAD64 replied to jasmin20's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At the pre-op appointment they weighed me and took my vitals. Then I spoke to the doctor. The doctor gave me lab slips for an upper GI and a Hpy-lori test. That was it. Blood work happened weeks later. -

What was your BMI on the day of surgery?
TQUAD64 replied to dietpeach's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Surgery date BMI was 40 Today BMI is 36.6 I am newly banded, but I am very happy with my results thus far. I look forward to getting into the twenties for my BMI. -
I was afraid initially. I new about the band and the procedure. I did the research and then forgot about it. Then I went back to pursuing it and I have not regrets. I figured that if I did not have the procedure done that my health would get worse.

I had this same issue a couple of weeks ago and I ended up having soup. The weather was really cold outside so the soup was perfect. Thus, no one in our lunch party questioned my decision to just have the soup.

My Husband died during my program
TQUAD64 replied to Linda P's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am so sorry for your loss. Keep moving forward and give yourself the gift of health. Do this for you and do this for your family. Best wishes. -
Now that I am on regular solid foods, I can eat nor more than a cup.

I feel my port if I touch my tummy in that area. My port is above the belly button, but to the far left of my stomach, way below my bra line. I am 5-weeks post op and do not have any port pain. Perhaps you should discuss further with your doctor.

confusing banding with bypass?
TQUAD64 replied to nayray13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It does not sound like your doctor has the two procedures mixed up. It sound like his is just very conservative when it comes to Banding. You will find other examples listed on this forum of doctors who give fills every 8 weeks. Some do fills every 6 weeks and others do fills every 4-weeks. Some doctors instruct three meals a day with no Snacks while others tell patients to eat when they are hungry. Some doctors state 1/2 cup of food others 1 full cup. Really there is so many variances between each doctor. However, regarding the restriction and it being a myth. I have not heard that before. I feel restriction which helps diminish my hunger. As for pills, again every doctor is different. Some allows pills and some don't. -
Today: Rest day, back at it tomorrow.:blushing:
