It felt really easy losing the first 30 pounds in two months. Plus my energy has gone through the roof. I am hoping the next 30-pounds are easy to drop too! :grouphug:

Skhopp, so sorry this has happened to you. It is my greatest fear. I had given serious consideration to the bypass, but decided against it for so many personal reasons. Do you think the bypass will help you? I mean it is also a tool in some way, because you have to eat a certain way just like with the band. Both procedures require a life style change to make them work properly, so I guess I am wondering if you can do that with the bypass? Take care.:grouphug:

Welcome to LBT. I see your doctor recommended Optifast, but that he let you actually pick something else. Did your doctor tell you it was okay to have solids? Soem do and some don't on the pre-op diet. You might want to talk to your doctor just to make sure. You don't want to do anyhting that might cause a delay in your surgery. Good luck!!!!!

Be honest, am I being lazy?

The winter cold, yes in California we have winter cold...It makes me not want to get up out of bed and do anything. I am so ready for Spring. For me the winter cold and no sunshine plays on me wanting to stay home and bundled up. Can you do some workouts at home? Can you start out slower and build up the workouts? -
Hey Georgia Girl. I was an advid jogger as a teenager and twentysomething young woman, but because of my weight gain I stopped. I so want to jog again, but I am afraid because I am 5'6" and 220 pounds. I don't want to stress my joints by jogging/running with this excess weight. However, I know that I can lose the weight quicker if I jog/run rather than walk. Are you running on a treadmill or outdoors. I so want to run/jo outdoors, but I was thinking I would have to loose more weight first.

I work out at home. It is just easy with my work/commute/family schedule.

I am the only one frustrated?
TQUAD64 replied to als74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is in it great that the only person you have to worry about is yourself. That the only person you need to be frustrated with is yourself, because really the only person you can control is yourself. Take the comments on the threads with a grain of salt. They are for informational purposes only. Read and move on. -
Congrats on your weight loss!

post op food choices?
TQUAD64 replied to new_renee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well every doctor has different post-op instructions. Here is what my doctor instructed. Week 1: Clear liquids, which include Isopure Protein drinks Week 2; Full liquids includes cream Soups, yogurts, and milk Week 3: Mushies: All of the above with pudding, oatmeal, mashed potatos, ect. Week 4: Full diet very slowly introduce all food types, but chew really well. -
A sauna can help take the aches out of your muscles after a workout. It can detox you and it can help relax you. I miss being in the sauna.

Too funny! I set 30 guinea pigs free.

I have heard of people doing their own fills too and would love to hear more about how they do that. Amazing.
-
Wow! I like your doctor's agressive fill 4.5cc at one time amazing. How is the fill working for you today?

Yes, any kind of exercise works. We motivate each other, so come join us.

Congrats and good luck with the pre-op diet.

Elastic band around mid section
TQUAD64 replied to wintobethin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Interesting, I never heard of it before. I received a coughing bear to hold on my tummy for coughs and the long bumpy ride home. -
Sometimes I gurgle so loud, I am afraid my next door neighbors are going to start knocking on the apartment wall to keep the noise level down.

My doctors were very neutral and supportive of both procedures at the seminar. I think there was around 125 people at the seminar...it was packed. But the presented the good and the bad of both procedures and stated that the indvidual and the doctor will decide together which procedure is best for that person. I felt no pressure either way. Maybe people changed their mind and switched to bypass, because it has rapid weight loss results. That is exactly one of the reasons why I did not select the procedure.

I am two months out with the band. I am a bandbaby really quite new to it. But I have not had any problems. I can eat all food types in moderation of course. I have not gotten stuck. I have not vomitted. I lost 30 pounds, which I love. I have tons of energy and I have lost three pant sizes. I am more active and exercising. As far as the down side, I cannot think of anything. I just went into this journey with an open mind, realizing that it will take a team of health care workers to help me break 20-years of terrible eating habits. And knowing the band is a tool and I have to work it.

I'm back, I'm back. My head cold is gone. I feel a little bit drained, but much better. It sucks being under the weather and not getting a workout in. Today: took it slow 50 minutes 4% incline 2 miles.

Do you have gas more since lapband?
TQUAD64 replied to health4life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes, and it is frustrating and painful. I never had it this bad before. I eat the same foods that I ate before surgery (except for salads, I am afraid to try salads yet) and the gas is just really bad.
