Does anyone regret getting their LB?
TQUAD64 replied to katskradle22's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Even though I had some slight complications, I do not regret the Band. I am glad I have it and that I am losing weight slowly. -

Newbie Questions - Coffee & Water??
TQUAD64 replied to DottieDoo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I sip fluids all day long and because I exercise I drink a lot more Fluid. As far coffee, my doctor prefers me not to drink coffee, however I dink coffee. Always have always will. -
Yesterday: 45 minutes treadmill at 4% incline 2.40 miles.

Today: 45 minutes treadmill at 4% incline 2.5 miles. I had the fluro fill yesterday and it was amazing. I could see the port and tubing as my innards glowed in the dark. Okay not really glowing, but you know the barium solution drink and the xrays really gives you an amazing view of your insides. No leaks...and I received a 1cc fill, which feels good. Fluids are staying now. New meds continue to work their magic, and I feel stronger every day. Yahoo!!!

Okay, that home coming was way too scary and dangerous. The babies are adorable. I am so glad the nurses are there to help.

Very cool. My friend ran it too. I actually drove by Sacramento the morning of the race and was thinking of all the runners. I am so glad the rain did not ruin your run. Great job!:lunch:

Spring is just around the corner and I am seriously considering growing a very small veggie and herb garden. However, I live upstairs in an apartment with a small balcony that gets direct sun-light. Has anyone planted a small garden under the same circumstances as mine? Any tips? I was thinking about purchasing a wine barrel and placing it out on the balcony. I was considering buying a shade umbrella, because of the direct sun light that hits the patio. I was also thinking about planting tomatoes, but I would like to try and plant something else, but do not know what??? I have a great indoor Basil garden, but would like to try and plant some other herbs, but don't know what else. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Lunch recipe recs? I'm tired of the same old.

I love Miso Soup too, but not every day. I am trying to save money to buy a house, so I am now eating my left over dinner for lunch. This is really amazing for me, because I never use to eat left overs. But I don't mind if I can save money to buy a home. So, I make extra servings of dinner on purpose, so I can take the leftover to work to eat for lunch. Examples: Chili Taco salad Baked chicken with veggies Baked fish with veggies Chicken casserole Pasta casserole When I don't have left overs from dinner, I will make lettuce or tortilla wraps for lunch. Example: lettuce with humus spread on it and meat and cheese placed in the middle with onions and tomatoes. Example: Multi grain tortilla with humus, meat, cheese, onion, and veggies. And I can always make a nice salad with the left over meat from dinner. -
I have a 10cc LapBand. I heard the Realize Band is 9cc. As far as I know, the LapBand comes in a size 10cc and 14cc. Compare Adjustable Gastric Bands - LAP-BAND vs. REALIZE Band

I am so excited. Today I went and bought tomatoe, sugar peas, and green bean seeds. I did not find herb seeds. Tomorrow, I am going to get the planters, soil, find some herb seeds and patio umbrella. :scared2:

You know come to think about it, I was 18 when I moved out. My siblings were 18 when they moved. And my DD was 18 when she moved out and that was 6 years ago. I nor my siblings were kicked out. We were just adventurous and wanted to explore our world away from our parents. We always kept in touch with mom and dad (and I talk to mom every week or stop by). But there was something exhilarating about being on your own. Making it in the world on your own. DD daughter felt the same way too. I always beg her to come back home because I miss her sooooooooooo much, but she is on her own adventure now...going to school and working. Unfortunately my son is mentally ill and is disabled by illness. I suspect he will be living with me for more years to come.

I forgot to mention, octo-mom took her fake nails off. Octo-mom and Dr. Phil were at Kaiser visiting th e babies and when octom-mom was picking up the babies she had no fake nails. That is another reason that I really think Dr. Phil and so many others are coaching her.

I have to agree if it is at all possible to stay at home with the kids, then do it. But I do understand for single parent households that this more likey not possible. When I was married and the kids were young we were able to take advantage of our odd shift work. At one time hubby worked swings and I worked days, which helped limit day care use. Plus, we always had family. But when I divorced, the kids were 6 and 10 and I had no support system, so daycare and school was it. I had to work. Being a parent is so challenging.

Oh you know what I forgot to mention, on Dr. Phil yesterday, he asked octo-mom if she was offered a porn deal. She stated yes, she thought it was a joke, and she would not do it. Dr. Phil also asked octo-mo if she was planning to do a tv reality show. She stated no...not in her plans... but would consider doing a medical tv special about her experience if it was tastefully done. I think Dr. Phil and others and finally getting through to octo-mom for the sake of all the children.
