hello ! I am new here and want help!
TQUAD64 replied to micy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
After care is very important and it sounds like your not receiving any. Without aftercare and having fills when needed, it really defeats the purpose of the Band. Can you start going to one of those fill centers? I always encourage exercise as well. It has helped me a lot to lose the weight and inches. -
Today: 3.27 miles on a 5% incline for 60 minutes.

Okay MacMadame, if I didn't know better I would say that bike looks like one of Lance Armstrong's missing bikes.:mad2:

[quote name=luluc;1151220 **i'm thinking of buying a treadmill @the home' date=' or a spin bike....not sure which. starting the first of april my trainer will come to the house & i really only need the gym for cardio....so i'm trying to decide - anyone have an opinion?**[/quote] I much prefer the treadmill. I am totally addicted to it. I never really cared for my spin bike and primarily used it for hanging my clothes on, so I got rid of it. But the treadmill has so many features like the FIT cards. Plus, you can bypass the whole FIT system and create your own program. The best part is that it is just so darn convenient to have the equipment at your house, you know what I mean??

Just found this: LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Property records show the house where the California mother of octuplets lives is under the threat of foreclosure. Los Angeles County property records show a notice of mortgage default was recorded Feb. 9 against the Whittier home owned by Angela Suleman, the mother of Nadya Suleman, who gave birth to octuplets on Jan. 26. Nadya Suleman has lived in the home with her six previous children. The default notice shows Angela Suleman is $23,225 behind in her mortgage payments and the three-bedroom house could be sold at auction beginning May 5. Angela Suleman's phone has been disconnected and she could not be immediately reached for comment. The Associated Press

3 days post op-wish I could have dieted when I had the chance.
TQUAD64 replied to Linda Hawkins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hang in there. Many of us have questioned if this was the right decision for us. I did before and after surgery. I really think it is the fear of the unknown mixed in with what we know. My example is this; the fear of not knowing if WLS is really going to work mixed in with the knowing that every flipping weight loss attempted yielded less than stellar results. Give your self time. Allow yourself to work the band. The weight we gain did not occur over not, so our weight loss will not happen over-night as well. I bet in two weeks you will feel so much better. Good luck! -
Today: 5% incline 50 minutes 2.62 miles. Plus, 30 minutes of upper bod weights. :rose:
-
But do you think you need the full four weeks or more. I am not at goal BMI yet, but I considering PS. Not sure about the TT, but will do breast augmentation. Just wondering how the recovery time is. TT sounds so painful.:rose:
-
How much time do you take off from work for this procedure?:rose:
-
My first fill was 3cc on the day of surgery. And another 1 cc four weeks later.
-
Really, are you sure Medicare does not cover any of the fills? Why insert a band and not provide some fills for a co-pay or reduced cost? I would call Medicare directly and confirm this to be true. If it is true, I would look some where else for my fills, because 1cc for $500 or $1K is just way too much!

It does not bother me to read posts like this. People need to share their fears, concerns, and anger in a relatively safe environment. Sometimes people have no one else they can share with, so what better way to do that than here where no one knows you, unless you post your picture.:rose:

Ladies, get on the Wii Fit!
TQUAD64 replied to Weas123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is what women only? The Wii game? Nope, because I was whipping the heck out of the boxer on the Wii game. Talk about taking out your aggression. :rose: -
I have only been banded for three months, but I know for me personally what my triggers are, which will cause me to screw up. 1. Lack of exercise and being in the mind set that I can stop exercising. 2. Not tracking calories, I gave to do this or I really distort the amount I consume. 3. Watching slider foods 4. Sticking with my after care and having my blood drawn monthly. It is a chore, but I need to do it. 5. Keeping the mind set that this is a long journey and an ever lasting commitment to myself to my health. 6. Not comparing myself to Jachut :-) (or to anyone else) 7. Keeping it real. Yep, I do screw up. It's true! But I don't let it consume and I just get back on track. I am forgiving of myself.

So sorry to hear this. Focus on your recovery and the chemo treatments. I would recommend an unfill, but your doctor will advise you best.

Ate too much 1 week post op.
TQUAD64 replied to Bandnerd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your doing great. Thank goodness you did not eat solid foods. You are sticking to liquids so job well done, as I know that is hard to do. Soup is a slider food. It slides down into the small pouch and empties into the larger stomach area. However, if you are chugging (sp) and drinking 6 cups straight through without breaks in between, you can risk stretching your small pouch and hurting your internal incisions. Call your doctor. Let them know your really hungry and the amount of soup you are consuming. They might allow you to start mushies early or let you have no-fat yogurt. It does not hurt to ask. -
almost 5 years out, and still having troubles
TQUAD64 replied to donnajo2325's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Donna, I know you state that going to the doctor is not an option right now, but if there is anway you can scrape up the money to go then go. Your health is way to important and there could be issues going on that your doctor can assist you with. An unfill comes to mind right off the bat. Aftercare is so important with the band. Take care. -
Ladies, get on the Wii Fit!
TQUAD64 replied to Weas123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Once a month we have a ladies night out. We went to one of the ladies house and she had a Wii. I never played the system before, but once I left her house I became a Wii addict. Yes, it is true, I was bowling and boxing. I never laughed so hard or worked up a sweat from the boxing game. Lots and lots of fun! I am now saving up for a Wii system. -

Great job on your weight loss! 3ccs is a lot for a first fill, how do you feel? Any restriction? Is water staying down?
