Surgery On Friday(1o-o3-o8)
Rebrph replied to Miss Undastood's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on your banding. I was also banded in Mexico. It is one month for me and I wish I had done it 2 years ago. Good luck! -
You are not alone. I too have asked the same question about Carnie Wilson. I think Al Roker must be doing something again, because he seems to be losing weight again. I also have asked how could they put it all back on after going thru so much, especially with gastric bypass.

Thanks Renita! I am very pleased. I am still walking, I have missed a few days since going back to work but I am averaging 4 days a week. I am on the way out the door now to the walking track at the gym. I am going to wait one more week then add my Sweat'n to the Oldies. I think I will walk one day and do my video on the days I can't walk. Keep up the good work with your pre-op diet you are doing great. I only lost 5.5 lbs on my two week pre-op. You are doing great and your banding date will be here before you know it. Cindy

Hey ladies, I am so happy for both of you. Today is my one month banding anniversary. I have lost 16.2 lbs since being banded and I can tell I have lost inches, I just haven't measured yet. I will be getting my first fill in a couple of weeks and I can't wait. Cindy

I think the questions you need to ask yourself are you doing this for yourself or someone else? Are you happy with the way you feel about yourself? Have you tried everything that you can to lose the weight on your own and been unsuccessful? Why is my b/f so opposed to my having this surgery? Is my b/f jealous and afraid that you will get skinnier that them? I don't understand your daughter, I have an eleven and eight year old and they didn't want me to have surgery either because they love me the way I am. I just explained to them that I was doing this for myself and I wanted to be able to be more active and get out there and do more things with them. It was a very hard decision for me too and I paid for the whole thing no insurance. I wish I had done it a year ago. I hope I helped you a little, but you are truly the only one that can know if this is the right thing for you. If you aren't doing this for you then ultimately you will fail. I know that sounds harsh but the band is only a tool. I wish you all the luck in the world with your decision whatever it may be. God Bless.

Let us know what that tastes like, I have been thinking of buying some myself.

I was just banded on 8/29/08 and I have been doing really good and feeling great and then I started my cycle two days ago and I feel like crap. I feel so tired and have had more shoulder and chest pain and I haven't changed my diet. Has anyone else experienced this with their first cycle after being banded? I just hope I don't have to go thru this every month, I just want to crawl up in the bed and sleep all day. I couldn't even drink all my protein shake this morning. I hope this passes soon. Blahhhhhh!!!

Rebrph replied to health4life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
thanks for all the good recipes -
Has anyone tried Miracle Noodles?? I read about them somewhere and they are all fiber no carbs. I was wondering if anyone has tried them and if they are any good??

I was banded 3 weeks ago today. I have lost 14.4 lbs since surgery and 19.9 lbs including the 2 week pre-op diet. I am so happy. I wish I had done this a year ago, I can't believe I ever considered not having this done. I already feel so much better. :cursing:

What kind of diet are you on?? I was on a less than 50gm per day of carbs. I guess it depends on your doctor. Anytime I got hungry I would have some protein or a small salad with ranch dressing. You can do it!!!

Renita congrats on your surgery date it will be here before you know it. Great job on the walking. I am walking everyday right now, yesterday was 2 weeks banded for me and I weighed again this morning and I lost another 2 pounds so I am down 11.2 pounds since surgery. I went back to work this week and I must admit I feel pretty good. Take Care, Cindy

What kind of margarine/mayo do you use?
Rebrph replied to kaytiebugs's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Helmann's light is a good mayo....I have tried the other's and I don't like them as well. Kraft and Blue Plate are awful. -
Well today is 11 days post-op for me. All my incisions are healing nicely, no more bandaids. I have lost 8.4 lbs and I have walked the last 7 days in a row!!!! I go back to work on Thursday. I am keeping a diary everyday of what I eat and how much I exercise. I actually enjoy writing my day down on paper. It helps keep me honest. I feel like I have a new attitude:smile2:

OMG...I just learned a valuable lesson. Do not drink your protein shake toooo fast. I guess I was going back to my old ways and I didn't realize how fast I was drinking, not until the shoulder pain kicked in. Well 2 hours later I am feeling better but believe me I will slow down from now on.
