It gets better daily. I've been using a body pillow but am getting okay with none now. The rest is improved too!

Please be careful! You're tummy just endured a major procedure. It's really not worth risking damaging it. This stage is very hard, I know. Six more days until I move to pureed food. I want to eat so bad. But we have to be strong. This is such a small part of the journey. Expand what you're drinking, just one thing would drive anyone crazy. Broths, ice treats, jelly, protein water. Keep it varied.

So good to hear from you Gabbie! I was the same, pain and nausea. It gets better quickly. I just take a preventative tablet for reflux now, a week out. I'm living on broth lol. It's half my daily fluid intake. I also have a protien water, flavoured ice stick and jelly. Getting about 64 ounces with that. Going home is the best! Take care.

One week post op today, down 4kgs which is crazy. I'm not focused on protein during the liquid stage, just hydration. Next week it'll become a focus. I've tried adding protein powder to my broths and it's just not working. I don't need pain meds now, I haven't slept well the past 3 nights though needing to change positions. Hopefully as incisions continue to heal that stops. I ordered an instant pot at 50% off yesterday and can't wait for it to arrive so I can meal prep for the next 2 weeks. Ordered lots of containers too. I can't wait to eat again, don't care that it's pureed lol.

Oh sweetie, this is one of those instances where anticipation is worse than the event. Deep breaths. It's okay to feel absolutely overwhelmed. I was too. I cried with my admitting nurse, my pulse 140bpm just before surgery, BP hit 180. It's a lot. Big hugs. Good luck to all of you today! Take it easy after surgery. Slow sips. You may not want to drink much the first 48 hours. Especially as you figure out what works best for you. My main source at the moment is broth. Frozen ice sticks and jelly too plus protein water. Fluid gets easier quickly for most. You'll all be in my thoughts today!

Yes! It's pretty normal I think. When I came home 3 days ago I was 149kgs, marginally higher than my final hospital weigh in. This morning I'm 147kg, which equates to 4.4 pounds. Our body is in recovery mode. I was pumped with IV fluids too!

The only thing I took out of my bag was my tablet and ear plugs! Went home in what I wore in. Just used a hospital gown. All I did was sleep day one and day 2 really didn't feel like being on tablet much. Tired and focussed on enough fluids to get me discharged the next day.

Oh Synlee I'm so sorry. You'll have to go in soon as you'll be rather dehydrated by now. Plus they can run some tests, some kind of scan would be good to see if anything looks not quite right. Remind me what WLS you had? I wish I could make all this disappear for you. I'm hoping Loot chimes in, I saw them post elsewhere with similar issues, you're not alone. Big hugs to you.

How is everyone going? I'm 4days PO GS and luckily have no issues. I'm fatigued more than usual so am having a long afternoon nap and a good night's sleep. I'm down to 2 x OTC pain meds in the morning, a nausea med just in case and a reflux tablet I've been given for the first month. I have Trapantadol too, I've been taking 2 before bed but will likely stop after tonight. No real pain, just discomfort at incision sites. Gas pain is mostly gone. I ordered a same day delivery body pillow last night and it's great as I'm a side sleeper. I miss actually eating so am looking forward to the end of the liquid stage, 10 more days. I'd love to hear from more of you. @Synlee have things improved? What about you @Loot? Who is on purees? Is that going ok? How much can you eat?

Hopefully it's just gas, I'm 3 days out and rarely experience it now. Post in the May group, we're here for you. Another person there has similar issues.

That's great! I was out for the count the day off, so tired from the surgery and drugs given. I hope recovery continues to be wonderful. How is your fluid intake going? My fave thing so far is vegetable broth. My oldest has made me pineapple jelly so I'm looking forward to that later.

I've been approved to go home, 30 minutes until husband gets here. Slept great overnight, I was so tired. Hope everyone is recovering well. I feel pretty good but also a bit overwhelmed with my life changed. I think it's the unknown and not knowing how the coming weeks and months will pan out with how much I can est, what can I eat, enough Protein etc. One day at a time I guess .

Hey everyone, been nearly 24 hours and I feel pretty good. Surgery went great. Spent the night in hdu because of my sleep apnoea. I think I'd have been here anyway as my blood pressure was 180. Settled now but still on high side so I'll monitorat home and see my gp to review. Could just be the whole experience right now raising it. I've been having IV fluids mostly and can have 50mls fluid an hour. I'm doing a barium swallow shortly and if there's no leaks I can have full clear liquids. Going to bariatric ward in about 90 minutes too where I'll have my own room. My pain is manageable, only discomfort at the higher incision sites. It was quite painful in recovery initially. I had nausea then too and felt like I needed to burp. Gas pain does hurt but I don't have much of it and when it comes it's only a few seconds only. Going home tomorrow as long as I'm drinking around 1 litre.

5.30am, leaving in 45 minutes for my 7am admission. Oooh boy I'm nervous! I got this! Love to you all.

Good luck to our Tuesday surgery buddies! Mine is tomorrow 10 May but due to time differences pretty much 9 May for y'all in US. I check in at 7am, which is just over 19 hours away.
