Hello Everyone, I have noticed a lot of angry posts around here the last few days. I have noticed a few other things as well such as: 1. The angry posts are often by the same few posters 2. The angry posts often lead to mean and angry posts and so on and so on... 3. The angry posts are often sparked by posts in which rather controversial "blanket statements" are made. 5. Threads are once again (although not too many yet) being locked. Now I have a few suggestion that might help diffuse some of these situations: 1. Don't state opinions as facts. 2. Use phrases like "in my opinion" or "I think" or "in my experience" when stating opinions. 3. Don't submit posts attacking someone elses character, calling their intellect into question or posts that are just plain mean spirited. 4. If someone does post something that violates suggestion #3, IGNORE them. 5. If you can't ignore them then respond in a PM. 6. Even if you feel passionately about something, don't get sucked into arguements that have turned nasty. Start a new thread. 7. Above all, be nice and treat others hear at LBT the way you would want to be treated (unless you are, in fact, mean, then just be nice). Please feel free to add you own suggestions to the above lists.

I've been in the same boat the last couple of weeks waiting to get a much needed fill (my doc was out of the country). I found it much easier going when I ate extra vegetable with my meals. I also often added a small salad to my meals and kept left over salad and veggies in the refrigerator to add to between meal Snacks. It really helped with the hunger a lot and I kept losing weight! You can do this!

I didn't know you weren't banded. Wow - extra big congratulations on your WL. Are you waiting to be banded? Trying to get approval?

Oh Mo..I am so with you there. I have flirted with the 250's for the last couple of weeks. I would see it then go back up a few pounds. My scale this morning finally read 257.9. I did the happy dance, moved my scale to a different spot and checked again just to make sure! I don't know why those 10 lb markers are such a huge mountain for me to climb. Once I get by them the weight seems to come off and stay off until...the next 10 pound mark. Then I usually spend a couple of weeks flirting with it, finally seeing it...going above it... seeing it...slipping back above it...It's MADDENING!!!!

*Clack* *clack* *clacks* back in to avoid getting ready for school. School starts next week and I still havn't gone through any of our curriculum to form a homeschooling plan. You home school Telly...are you ready or have you already started! UGH - I am so unmotivated this year! Ok, I'm feeling really guilty here so I'm going to *clack* *clack* *clack* my way up to shower and get dressed already!

Hello again from me too! Thanks, P'Nut!

Hey Drewslou, I know it's hard when the scale doesn't move. It is amazing to me how one little square gadget has so much power over my daily emotions! The bright side is, you know why the scale hasn't moved, you love your tattoo, your foot is feeling better and now you can get back to you normal routine and start losing!

Hey, Just Paul, I responded to a one your question about my doing liquids on the the Christmas thread!
-
Yes, if you have a problem, please take it to PM's or the moderators.
-
Hey Just Paul, Considering how conservative my doctor is with most things concerning the band, the post-fill diet is not one of them. I expected to be told to do liquids for a day or two following my first fill and when I asked him about it he told me I only need to be careful about foods that have given me trouble in the past. Now, I'm not stupid and I'm definately around here enough to know to be careful and I am. Fortunately for me, I don't seem to swell after a fill and although I do take things slower the the first few days and try to stick with softer foods, I havn't had any problems yet. I was so hungry yesterday by lunch, I opted out of onion soup and had a half portion of fish (-the chips) and a small salad which it took me about 2 hours to eat. My bigger challenge seems to be getting in enough calories and protein after being filled. I lose best between 1400-1600 calories and need to get in at least 90 grams of protein/day or I start to lose muscle. It's definately challenging for a week or two after a fill. Anyway, thanks again for the concern! By the way, I have been watching your transformation over the last few months--you look great!

Hi Susan, I see both your messages so you must have done something right. Welcome to LBT and contratulations on the great WL.

503 - Good luck with your fill. Good restriction makes all the difference! Actually it sounds like you have done very well w/o good restriction. Congrats! I'm exhausted and going to be and so is my "oh so high on Vault 10 year old." I don't care if he lays in bed awake all night. He knew he wasn't supposed to drink it. Maybe a few sleepless/restless hours awake in bed in the middle of the night will be good a good lesson in the school of life. My duty is done - Goodnight!

503-250 - Are you banded yet?
-
P'Nut - Go to bed and snuggle up with Dawg!

You know what's really good with peaches? Cream cheese blended with marshmallow creme. It's kind of like cheese cake--I'm torturing myself here. It's actually really good with apples and strawberries too. I think i need to update my shopping list for tomorrow!
-
I actually like pb&j crackers (with saltines). A little peanut butter, lots of jelly, shove the whole thing in my mouth (preband days of course), yummy-yum!
-
Ok, now I want some peanut butter but I'm too full from the cottage cheese. I could probably even afford the calories right now! How can I be full and still salivating!
-
I love cheese! It's my favorite source of protein! In fact, I just finished a half cup of cottage cheese. I got a fill earlier today (no, my doc does not require 24 hours of liquids, not even mushies) and it has been a struggle to get in enough calories and protein today. Yes, I love cheese of any kind! Even the really smelly ones!

Hey CanadaSunshine, Thanks for taking on this thread for the month. I'm sure it's a lot of work--especially on Wednesdays! I'm sure Susan appreciates the break too. I find it challenging enough to keep track of my own stats let alone everyone elses. You're doing a great job.

I'm back! Judah (my 10 year old son) bought himself a Vault this evening and he is not even close to ready for bed. I wish I had his energy on a regular day--tonight he is bouncing off the walls literally and non-stop yacking! I told him to go play his gamecube so I have some time yet. This has turned into such an enjoyable evening!
-
At least I don't have to worry about them shattering like the real things. Although if I get them going in the wrong direction, I suppose I could give myself a black eye or two. Ok, enough... really goodnight this time!
-
Why do you think I chose a cow for my avatar. It's "udderly" appropriate - believe me! Darn, I keep having to edit out my signature because I am using the "post quick reply option!" I forgot again!
-
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! That's not imagery I want everyone imagining! It was bad enough that I was in front of a mirror.

I tried that once and almost went face first into the tub when the scale tipped forward! When I finally got back on I had gained 2 pounds from the day before. I tried to put it off to scale error due to scale trauma but I think it might have been the 3000 calories I had consumed the day before (I really needed a fill and grazed all night at a party!) I even resorted to holding the "girls" up one morning but, of course that didn't work! DUH! I have wondered if I could get an accurate tummy apron weight if I scoot the scale up to my counter and set my excess tummy on top. Or perhaps have my husband support my "girls" while I am on the scale. I'm sure he wouldn't mind.

Hang in there Squiggle, it will! Make sure you keep yourself hydrated!
