Do you think I can lose 70lbs naturally? I'm at a crossroads :(
Barbara Drake replied to helenah's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Certainly, losing 70lbs naturally is possible, but it will require effort and consistency in your diet and exercise routines. Consulting with a healthcare professional before starting any weight loss program is important to ensure that it is safe and appropriate for you. In addition to healthy lifestyle changes, there are various options that can assist with weight loss, such as incorporating complete meal replacement shakes into your diet. These shakes can provide a convenient and easy way to manage calorie intake while still getting the necessary nutrients to support overall health. However, it's important to remember that these shakes should not be the sole source of nutrition and should be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and regular exercise. In addition to incorporating meal replacement shakes, you can also focus on other healthy habits such as: Regular exercise, such as cardio and strength training, to help burn calories and build muscle. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated and help control hunger. Getting enough sleep each night to support overall health and weight loss goals. Keeping track of your food intake and monitoring your progress to stay motivated and on track. Overall, losing 70lbs naturally is achievable with the right mindset and approach. By making healthy lifestyle changes and incorporating options like meal replacement shakes, you can set yourself up for success in reaching your weight loss goals. -
Barbara Drake reacted to a post in a topic: Vegan diets?
-
It's difficult to say definitively whether it's easier or harder to lose weight following a vegan diet, as it depends on various factors such as the individual's dietary habits, lifestyle, and level of physical activity. However, some studies suggest that a vegan diet may be effective for weight loss due to its emphasis on whole, plant-based foods that are often lower in calories and higher in fibre compared to animal-based foods. Additionally, a vegan diet may promote greater satiety, making it easier to control portions and reduce overall calorie intake. That being said, it's important to note that a vegan diet can also be high in calories if one regularly consumes processed or high-fat plant-based foods such as vegan junk food, fried foods, and sugary snacks. It's also possible to gain weight on a vegan diet if one consumes more calories than they expend through physical activity. Overall, a balanced vegan diet that emphasizes entire, nutrient-dense plant-based foods and incorporates regular physical activity may support healthy weight loss. However, as with any diet, individual results may vary, and it's important to consult with a healthcare professional before making significant changes to one's diet or lifestyle.

Thinking I might losing weight to fast
Barbara Drake replied to Catina B's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weight loss can vary from person to person, with some individuals experiencing rapid weight loss and others losing weight more slowly. It's important to recognize that weight loss is a gradual process, and it's normal for the rate of weight loss to slow down over time. If you have a significant amount of weight to lose, you may experience more noticeable weight loss in the beginning. However, as you continue on your weight loss journey, it's natural for the rate of weight loss to slow down. If you have any concerns about your weight loss, it's important to speak with your doctor. But if they haven't expressed any worries, then you should feel confident in celebrating your weight loss accomplishments. Remember, every pound lost is a step towards a healthier you. -

Thank you for your kind words! Yes, I am aware of the statistics about weight loss and how difficult it can be for many people. I feel grateful that I have been able to achieve some success with diet and exercise, but I also recognize that it's not the right approach for everyone. In addition to diet and exercise, I have also incorporated some meal replacement shakes into my routine, which have been helpful for me. I understand that for some people, medications, or bariatric surgery may be a better option, and I support whatever approach someone chooses to take to improve their health and well-being. The most important thing is finding a sustainable solution that works for you.

No, I'm just maintaining the healthy diet.
