    Buddy Anyone?

I would love a spot for bandsters in their 20's. Buddies are welcome, too. How do we get this started?

Can I afford it? Please read.

Try www.carecredit.com They have fiancing options, it's what I did for the $800 I was charged.
  3. I'm now 2 days into soft solid food so I can pretty much eat anything chewed really well and it's really tough because I get so hungry and I know that I'm overeating! Do you think this gets better? What will happen after the first fill that I hsve restriction?

    Bandster Hell! Help!

I need to be more mindful I know! It's just frustrating when I see that a woman that I had my classes with pre-op has already lost 50lbs with bypass in 8 weeks. I know I chose this band for a reason and I knew this all before but I can't help feeling a little sad for this. Can someone fill me in on ALL the reasons not to drink while eating? I know what my Doc told me once but can someone remind me?

  6. I was banded 3 weeks ago. I had pain for about 2 weeks and then I felt great. Now for about 4 days my port area has been puffy and swollen and it hurts when I move, when I walk when I roll around in bed. Is anyone else still having pain 3 weeks out? I called my doc yesterday and the nurse said I could have slept on it wrong. But, I'm kinda freakin out!
  7. I don't feel like I fell off the wagon at all. I'm on mushies. I had some chocolate and some ice cream but it was Christmas! My portions are nothing like they used to be so I am easily losing right now!

    Question! Please help!

Thanks so much! This morning I woke up and it actually felt better. I don't have a fever and there is no redness. I am going to give it until Monday to see how it goes.

Old Band out -- New Realize Band In

Ok...this is kind of rediculous. I can't believe anyone is doing research and commenting on what ("rock" whatever the name is) has posted. It's not fair. This person is simply stating something they believe to be true, advocates the Lapband (maybe a little more then alot of other people) But, the second he/she writes their opinion they get jumped at. So yes, I would become defensive, too. Does it matter? I didn't read what someone posted on Lapbandtalk.com to help me decide on what band i was to get, I talked to my doctor and did research from reputable sources. I would hope anyone else would be smart enough to do the same. Are you kidding me? I think you should find something better to do with your time. It doesn't matter, relax a bit.

    CONFESSION TIME..spill it

I was supposed to go on a 2 week full liquid pre-op diet and I lasted one day. I ate pork tacos, chips and salsa, ice cream and anything else I wanted. It didn't affect my surgery at all! I didn't gain any weight, but I didn't lose any before either! Ooops!!!
  11. Don't worry, The liver shrinking diet is supposed to be low fat, low sugar. I had the same diet. If you have a salad with lean Protein on it, it won't effect your surgery. It helped me with the hunger pains. Just have a salad if it gets bad. Your liver will still shrink. I feel docs give us these crazy diets because they don't trust us to make low fat low sugar choices before sugery. You can do it! (You are doing way better than I did, I cheated so much on my pre-op diet)
  12. I was just banded on Wednesday December 3rd! I am doing great right now thanks to pain meds!
  13. Hi All! So my insurance was approved and I have my pre-op appointment for this Friday! I'm pretty sure I will be a Decmber Surgery!
  14. I had this problem, too. Someone said to me that they think surgeons get paid more for gastric bypass though, so this could be the reason for the push. Just sit back and think about it, lord knows we have enough time to.
  15. I am getting really scared because I feel like for the past 3 days all the new posts popping up on the home page of the site are negative. Everyone isn't losing weight...or has only lost 10lbs. I guess I need some support from people who have lost alot and are/were well educated as I am going to be about the whole surgery process.

    New and a little worried

Hi there! I am not yet banded, but my doctor told us that if you are a real sweet eater then the band might not be for you and you might want to look into the gastric bypass. Refined sugars pass right down the band. Good luck though!

    Iud

Hi there, I agree it's different for everyone. But, I have never had children and I am 24 and have an IUD. It was the best thing my partner and I could have done for us. I have had no problems. But again everyone reacts differently.

    Newly Banded

I think it's totally realistic! My plan is to lose 100lbs in a year too. I am not yet banded, hoping to be by November! Congrats and I would love a buddy around my age! I'm 24 and my email is slyclark@yahoo.com
  23. Hi all! I just wanted to tell you how excited I am! I paid my program fee, got my program book and got my endoscopy, psych and nutrition scheduled! I thinking an early November surgery!! I am so so very excited!

    Iud

I have had an IUD for 3 years and when I told my doc it was no big deal. I love my IUD!
  25. Hi All, Today was my first consult and I left feeling a little confused. The doc asked me why I wanted to do Lap Band compared to Gastric Bypass. I told him the idea of having my stomach cut scares me, that I feel like I could do well with the band and I'm thinking I'm 24 and feel like I really could do well. I then mentioned another reason was because I wanted to lose slowly and not have all the extra skin. He told me that wasn't a reason to choose because no matter what I will have extra skin. I really feel like he was pushing bypass and now I am confused as what to do. What were your reasons?
