I have been banded 6 weeks and lost 30 pounds. I have no problem with rice, bean or tortillas. I have problems with chicken....i gave up on chicken.:rolleyes2: -
I won't go into great detail about my surgery yesterday. However, her is my advice for you lapband day. I was totally freaked out the morning of surgery. I was wheeled in the pre-op room, then into the surgery room, then I woke up in the recovery room! I am sore, but they way I look at it, a little pain today is going to keep me from a lot of pain later! Don't be in a hurry to get home. Relax, get as comfortable as possible and relize you will be there all day. Don't be a hero. Take you pain meds! You feel better and can sleep better. You will feel much, much better the next day. I drove my son to school today, dropped off my dry cleaning and picked up a movie. You will be moving slower, but thats good! I bought a "Thermos Brand, hydration bottle" it keeps your Water ice cold all day! You can find it on the internet. Lastly, it takes a lot of courage to go into surgery feeling healthy. You can do it....IT DID! Andy Garcia Simi Valley, CA:thumbup:

Yup, I made the same mistake. I told my sister that I am getting the Lapband. She said great! I then told her that maybe we should do it together......she sarcastically replied "I DON'T NEED THAT!" She really does.......she is waaaaay overweight... Need to becareful when suggesting others are fat! Some people are in complete denial!

Thanks for the response. I will stay on my doctor and insurance!

How long did it take for the insurance company to approve the Lapband? My claim was submitted yesterday.

I am scheduled for my Pre-Op Psychologist meeting and nutritionist meeting. My Doctor told me that the Lapband works better for men, becuase they eat in volume. It seems the majority of people getting the procedure are women. Oh well:confused:

I live in Simi Valley and I am seeing Dr Paya also! I also have Anthem Blue Cross! Why do you have to lose weight to get the Lapband? I see the Psychologist and nutritionist on Monday and Tuesday...

I made the decision to get the Lapband a couple of months ago. I see the dietitian on Monday and the psychologist on Tuesday. A NEW JOURNEY !!!

robtyty replied to stranger9876's topic in Insurance & Financing
Hi, I also went to a Doctor in West Hills. They called Blue Cross and was told that I did not have ANY benefits!! I called Blue Cross and they apologised, but I sense a scam! What was the number at Blue Cross?
