  1. +1 about the protein issues. I had my surgery a month ago and now I am on to normal foods. But my nutritionist wants me to maintain a high protein diet. I don't eat a lot of meat, so it's really difficult.
  2. I'm 3 days out of surgery and on protein liquids. I can't figure out how fast or slow to be eating in order to satisfy my hunger and make sure I don't stretch out my new pouch. I ate a 1/4 cup of pudding in about 10 minutes and am feeling guilty that it was too fast. My stomach gurgled and I felt it stretch. Am I damaging the pouch? How do you all eat slowly and satisfy the hunger?
  3. Thank you for all the information, the tips and especially the reassurance. I'll be coming back to this post from time to time to remind myself these things. I think I have been having a lot of head hunger and that's a great point. Does the head hunger pass? I've seriously been craving pizza and Cheetos and lasagna. Maybe that's because I am already tired of sweet protein shakes.
  4. I think it's possible but I wouldn't recommend it. If you could get an extra couple days off at least, that would be ideal imo.

    Gas pain recommendations!

Oh GasX works. Being ambulatory is also critical. Be careful not to dissuade people from real, doctor-recommended aids. It would be a shame for someone to suffer needlessly because they took this advice only.

    Gas pain recommendations!

The best thing would be to ask your doctor. I had the lap sleeve and I was told I could start taking GasX that same day. It has been a huge help.
  7. Congrats! The hardest part is over.
  8. I did it! Had my lap sleeve surgery yesterday and can proudly say that I survived. I did feel nauseous afterward and until I went to sleep last night. But today the nausea does seem to be gone. Also, since they inflate the belly for the laparoscopic work, the gas pains were insufferable. I sent my husband out to get GasX and it was a lifesaver. Highly recommend those getting the lap sleeve to make sure you have GasX too. Good luck!
  9. I hear. My headache went away on day 10. Gatorade was a lifesaver.
  10. Tomorrow is the big day! I am ready!
  11. A few of us are on the 5th. Welcome, partner!
  12. We're twinsies! I am getting really excited! And can't wait to end this low carb diet.
  13. I am so happy to hear that. I'm on day 7 of the keto preop diet and although it has gotten easier exhaustion-wise and foggy-wise, the headaches are still not gone. I agree about the higher energy levels though and am also so excited for my body to change. Keep up the good work. Happy to be on this journey together!
  14. Thanks. All I see are protein powders. Would you mind sharing a link to the product you recommend?
  15. Thanks! Which exact product? Is that the protein powder or something else?
  16. I'm doing that as we speak.
  17. Mine is April 5. I'm also excited. Do you only have to follow one week of pre-op diet or have you already done a week and have one week left? Veggie-wise, I've been having a lot of salad greens, mushrooms and some canned green beans. My biggest struggle has been with the headaches, fatigue and fogginess from the low carb diet. I'm having a hard time working.
  18. April 5th! I started my low carb pre-op diet a few days ago and have been having the worst headaches. Anyone else have that happen? Will it go away?
