When I had my lap band surgery 12 years ago. I shared with everybody on social media, I told all my friends. And when the band failed multiple times I had to deal with my feelings about my own failures for everybody to see. In addition I was also struggling with my feelings about being a fat person no longer in a fat body and my own body image issues and self-esteem. This was also on display for everyone. When I decided to get a gastric bypass after the lap band failed three times, I chose to tell a very select few people. I haven’t even let anyone in my family other than my parents know. I didn’t tell any of my coworkers. I think it’s a personal choice. From my experience it’s really hard if your success and your expectations don’t meet everybody else’s. I hope that helps. I have to say I had mine on the 8th and I am in barely any pain. I’m actually surprised at how smooth the recovery has been. The hospital stay was brutal though.

I was so uncomfortable the first night, but things are much much better about 2 days later. Keep up the walking. It will get better.

We have similar stories for sure. Lap band removed a year ago. Bypass last Sunday.

My theory is there isn’t enough calories in your body to move. Good to hear you are home. I had planned to sleep in my recliner because I wasn’t sure I could get out of my bed. But I wanted to sleep in my bed so bad and I decided to try it. I can get out of bed so no sleeping in the recliner. 🥳

How are you doing? Did you get to go home??

I am not sure if the hunger or sleep deprivation was the worst. I was a mess before surgery. Good luck for your surgery on Saturday. Just a few days to go! Sending positive thoughts. 🥰

Good morning! I’m doing well! Thank you for asking. I am able to drink and eat full liquids without much problem. Still super tired and napping a lot during the day. Getting up and walking as much as possible. Sending you healing thoughts. 🥰

That super sucks. I have Aflac on top of my regular insurance and they paid me like $2,500 just for a day surgery to have my lap and removed.

I’m doing better this afternoon. Just feel like I’ve done a million crunches...

The diet sucks but you can do this. It’s not a complete do over right? Just a delay. Do you know how long. I can’t imagine how disappointing this is.

I’m so sorry you are having such a hard time. I had a lot of nausea after my surgery which made it so much worse! I can’t imagine what you’re going through. I don’t have a lot of energy either, but sounds like you’ve had a more harrowing journey. I hope you feel better soon.

I didn’t lose a lot right away. I think I lost 12 pounds total in the two weeks.

I’m glad your surgery went well. I was super uncomfortable in the hospital but not really in pain. I got home yesterday and I’m still ridiculously tired. Just drinking drinking drinking all day.

I just got home today. Surgery was Sunday. I’m super tired and uncomfortable. Not in pain just can’t get comfy.

Yesterday was pretty rough. Toady is better. I was super nauseated yesterday. I’m up to full liquids and if I do okay and I walk 3 times around the hall I go home tomorrow. How are you doing?

I’m up this morning. Feeling anxious for sure. Headed to the hospital in about 2 hours

Gracelynn is almost never needy. She is ridiculously aloof. My youngest cat has been following me around all day...like stalker cat...she is currently sleeping on my overnight bag and god forbid I move her to actually pack my stuff. 🙄
