Wow, I am still amazed at the success you have had MacMadame, and impressed with your running! Cajun, I am confident you will achieve your goals. I am confident all of us will with all the great support we get here.

    Something Else is Missing...

Caro, glad to hear you are doing well! I may just take you up on that popsicle as hot as it has been here lately!
  3. Excellent reference resource, Mac!!
  4. No drinkable enemas for me either. That is just foul. I would like to say again, the list that bearded posted from Dr. Aceves boards is for banded patients. Sleeved patients do not have the same restrictions. We have a normal, fully functioning stomach, it is just smaller than most peoples. If you had a problem with a specific type of med before surgery, then you will likely continue to afterwards and should avoid it. However, anything else you were able to tolerate before surgery, you should do fine with now.
  5. Oh my goodness, you haven't told your husband yet? Wow, yeah, you should probably tell him or he is going to be in for quite a shock. Is he generally supportive of you?
  6. Good luck today!

    Need some support.....

I am sorry they gave you such a hard time at that other board. Here, we are more like family and truly here to offer support. When needed, we do give tough love. But from what you posted, you have already made great strides and have a firm grip on what you need to do. Now, you just need to know you have a place to go and get the support you need when you need it. Hopefully, you will find that here.

    Why now?

Hi Cajun! I wanted to pop in and welcome you to our forums. I think it is great that you are getting the VSG. You are still quite young and have a lot of years left ahead of you, even more now! I say go for it, grab life and live it to its fullest.

    How many jars of pickles....

I wonder what the penalty is for smuggling watermelon and pickles across the border? That may be a new one to them, lol.

    Something Else is Missing...

Hi Caro, and welcome to our forums. We are glad to have you join us. I had that feeling when I got my sleeve, but it was because I was having my very troublesome band removed! By the way, I am in Jacksonville too!

What do you take for lunch?

How could anyone possibly forget us?
  15. That sounds absolutely yummy! Thanks for sharing.
  16. Wow, that must have been a very scary experience to go through. Please follow up with your doctor and let us know how things go.

Excited to join the VSG club

Hi and welcome to VST! You will find many of us here who have revised from the band to the sleeve. I did mine at the same time and have not regretted it once. It was like getting my life back. You will be so happy not to have to worry about whether you are too tight or too loose, if you are going to have to run for the bathroom while out with friends to bring up your meal, etc. It really is a completely different lifestyle, one that you will love.

    Nana has a date!

Congrats on getting your date. You will love Dr. Aceves and his staff. I hope you don't mind, I moved your post into a thread of your own.
  20. Happy birthday!

    How many jars of pickles....

Goodness no, do not waste even one of those pickles. Darn, wish I was going to be there, I bet they are awesome. I may have to stop at the store and get some on my way home.
  22. Hi Lisa, glad to hear everything went well for you. That stinks about not being able to keep your band. Dr. Aceves gave me my band and port. I have it in a plastic bag in my drawer and am trying to decide what I want to do with it. I am thinking burning it might be a good idea!

I think Steve has forgotten about us!!

    Need some support.....

Hi Kat, and welcome. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. None of us are here to judge, this is a support forum and that is what you will receive here. First off, congratulations on being clean for three months, I know that took a lot of hard work and determination on your part. You should be very proud of all that you have accomplished already. I also never received any professional counseling or anything else. It sounds like you know what you are going into and what the challenges are that lie ahead. What is important is to have some good support. It sounds like your mother is wonderful and very supportive of you, which will help immensely. This forum is also a great method of support, for many of our members, it is their sole means of support through this journey. You can come here and ask for advice, vent, make friends, give advice or anything else you need. We are all here for one another and nobody understands more about what you are going through than us, your fellow sleevers. We look forward to taking this journey with you.

    What's on your mind?

Mac, you absolutely are amazing! I am so impressed by you. Daisy, chin up. Time to start focusing on the positive instead of focusing all your energy on the negatives. Think about what is good in your life. I think you going to visit Vegas and Bearded is going to do you a world of good. Is your daughter trying to run your life, or is she just concerned because she sees how down you have been?
