Has Dr. Alvarez had any VSG Leaks?
*susan* replied to ChroniclesofaFATGIRL's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, Hope4Me, *raises hand wildly* I want to be one of those "skinny bitches"!! -
Wannabhealthy45, congrats on getting your sleeve! You are going to be so much happier with it than you were with your band. The difference is amazing and it is so wonderful to get your life back. I hope your recovery continues to go well!

A Blessing in the form of a curse
*susan* replied to mnb's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Mnb, welcome to our forums. I believe everything happens for a reason, as appears to be the case with you. Keep us posted on how things are going. We look forward to getting to know you better. -
I remember you having to postpone your surgery. I am so sorry your mom is having these issues. You are wonderful for being there with her and helping her through all of this. My thoughts are with both of you. Please keep us posted on how she is doing.

Scared of transition to soft food
*susan* replied to Oregon Rose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be very careful with the scrambled eggs. That tends to be a problem food for a lot of people. -
I know Vegas and Bearded are still on their cruise. I miss them!!

Gah, you guys are making me feel so old!

What the others have said is so true. Your body is going through so many changes right now, that things are going to fluctuate for a while. Make sure you are taking measurements as well. It may not be showing a difference on the scale, but you still may be losing inches.

Frustrated and need to vent......
*susan* replied to shanda7182's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is awesome. I am in Florida, but haven't been carded in at least ten years. I wish someone would do it just to humor me! -
Ky, what is going on with mom? I hope everything goes well for her.

Hey Nana, glad to hear that you are doing well. I have a really, really tough time with the water too. I have never been big on it. Before the sleeve, I could do it with Crystal Light, but now, that tastes too sweet. I just really have to make a conscious effort to keep a bottle in front of me at all times. I also set a reminder on my iPhone at noon and 6:00 p.m. to pop up every day as a means of keeping a check on myself to make sure I am getting enough in.

Is it just me, or with each avatar change, does Tiff just keep getting cuter and cuter?! I am loving the hair. -
Awesome news!! It won't be long now and you will be an official sleeve sister!!

Belly button question - Sorry, kind of gross!
*susan* posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sorry if this is too much information, but I am curious as to whether or not anyone else has experienced this. Since losing weight, I have had the usual problems with rashes from the hanging skin. However, over the past week or two, I have a new problem. My belly button seems to be infected and oozing yellow goo. (too much information, I know, I know, so sorry :crying:). It looks like it may be from my excess tummy skin and it hanging lower now, that it is not getting any air or something and getting infected. Am I a complete weirdo on this, or has anyone else had this happen? -

I had a slip and quite a few problems with my band. Dr. Aceves had me get a complete unfill in my band one month prior to my surgery. Then, just to ensure there wasn't any swelling, etc. from all the problems my band gave me, he also had me do a liquid only diet for the week prior to my surgery. Everything worked great and I was able to have the band removed and the sleeve done all in one shot.

Belly button question - Sorry, kind of gross!
*susan* replied to *susan*'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL, I can't believe you guys want a belly button update! It is still gross. I got an ointment for it and it cleared up. Then, about three days after I finished the ointment, it started again. -
1 Step Forward, 5 Steps Backward
*susan* replied to Lisanne's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lisa, I have heard a lot of wonderful things about TOPS. I have a couple of people I know online that are also unable to afford counseling, but need help with their food addictions in order for their wls to be successful. They have had nothing but great things to say about the support and help they get there. Is there a TOPS group near you, and would attending their meetings possibly be an option?
