    Online food journals~

I have used the daily plate, fit day and weight watchers all at one time or another and loved them all. The only one I didn't like was spark people, because I received so many emails from them that it drove me crazy.
  2. Good luck! I remember how excited I was when I got mine. Everyone thought I should be nervous, but all I could think about was the start of my new life. The excitement far outweighed any nerves. Let us know how everything went once you are feeling up to it.

    Here I go......

Hi, annettemaria! Welcome to the forums! You have definitely found a great place for support and advice. I am so happy for you being able to get the surgery approved after the initial denial. That is great news. Keep us posted on how things are going.
  4. There are several factors to consider. If you are able to commit to a healthier diet and exercise, and feel like you will be successful with a restrictive type surgery alone, then the lap band or gastric sleeve is a pretty good option. The sleeve also removes the portion of your stomach where grehlin is made, which is the hunger producing hormone. While your body will eventually compensate and start making it again, it will not be nearly as much as it was before. If you are unable to resist things such as sweets, and don't feel you will be able to change your eating habits, then bypass or ds might be a better choice. If you need to lose a lot of weight quickly, say due to needing knee replacement surgery for example, then again, bypass would be best for that. Make a list of the pros and cons of each type of surgery. List what is important in your weight loss goals and compare them to the results of each surgery with your doctor. Talk to people who have had the various types of procedures and find out if they are happy with their choice, if they had it to do over, would they choose the same surgery type again, etc.
  5. Susy and Sassy, congratulations to both of you! It won't be long now.
  6. Hi there and welcome to LBT! We are definitely happy to have you join us here. I will keep my fingers crossed on that October date for you!

    Ipod with non-Nike+ shoes

I am curious to see what responses you get on this as well. I am getting ready to start the couch to 5k program and planning on utilizing the nike + too.
  8. When you went in for your fill, did they first remove all of the previous fill? It is important that they do that in order to make sure you do not have a leak. Also, bands are fickle creatures. I would get a fill, and sometimes it would take up to two weeks before I would notice the difference. Many others have said they experienced the same thing.

    Bikini waxing

Same here, Mac. That is why I am wondering if they have improved it in the years since I last used it.

    I'm sleeved and at home!

This is actually my second bout with this in about a month, grrrrr. I have been drinking lots of Water and gatorade, at nearly six months out, I can drink quite a bit. When I first got sleeved, I had a very difficult time with fluids. Thanks for the well wishes.

    Bikini waxing

I get the brows and lips waxed all the time. But, am terrified of getting a Brazillian. I kind of agree with Jachut, that it makes you look prepubescent. But, I thought it might be something the hubby would like. I mentioned it to him not to long ago and he basically responded that it would be weird, and also likened it to a child and being too creepy. So, I opt to just keep things closely trimmed. Jachut, do you find the nair is as smooth as a razor? I tried it years ago, and I felt like I still had stubble, so I never used it again. Maybe it is time I give it another try.

    Complications after Sleeve Surgery

Yep, you will notice that now, when you go to an emergency room, you are very, very seldom even approached about insurance and payment information until after treatment has started.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Actually, Beth, the entire moderator team agrees on this, as well as Alex. I am not the only person who does bans.

    Your Weight on Other Planets

    I'm moving to the moon!
  17. Hi Tim, and welcome to LBT. It sounds like you are approaching this in the right way, with the understanding that the band is just a tool. I think you will do very well.
  18. Hi there. I had the band for three years before I revised to the sleeve. The only other person I know of who has had the band five years or more is Jack, and he has done very well with it.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

It's even more sad when adults are incapable of following the rules. When someone is banned, the person is banned, not just the user name. It has nothing to do with power. If you have a problem with they way we moderate the forums, speak with Alex. However, I can assure you he backs us 100% on this.

    Homecoming delayed, I'm devastated

Tiff, I am sorry about this. At this point, I am sure even a one day delay would be tough to deal with. I really do admire you and all of our military families. I can't imagine how difficult it must be being apart from the ones you love.

    I'm sleeved and at home!

Hey Shanda, I have been down and out with the flu, so haven't been on much. Glad to hear everything went well for you!
