  3. You want to be a cougar, as in an older woman with a younger man? Sure, why not! Besides, age is just a number, right? :001_cool:

    today is the day!

I am thrilled for you guys, and jealous that three of you get to meet. One of these days, we are going to have to plan some sort of meet up. I think it would definitely be a blast.

    Good decision

    Emotional eating, mixed emotions

I am so sorry about your cat. Like you said, our pets are like our kids and it is very difficult when we lose them. As for the rest, I think I get what you are saying. Before, when we were sad, angry, lonely, depressed or whatever, we turned to food to comfort us. It was always there and filled whatever void we needed to fill. But now that we have such teeny, tiny stomachs, we are forced to actually face our problems and deal with them. We will probably end up being healthier both physically and mentally.
  7. Stay away from Costco on Saturdays when they have people set up on just about every aisle cooking samples. Lee used to just about make lunch out of that! I could, very easily, but most of it isn't very healthy.
  8. Hi Rick, and welcome to our forums. I think it is great that you and your wife are having this done at the same time. You will be a great support system for one another. You will have to get her to sign up here too. We are here if you have any questions, we all love helping one another and supporting each other through this journey.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

It is warm here, but supposed to get down to 55 tonight! I am not sure if I am ready for that yet or not. Irene, you are right, mine wasn't quite like yours! BBK, you are safe here, we have got your back!

    Just NOT seeing it!

I understand where you are coming from. It is hard for us to see ourselves any different from that overweight person we perceive ourselves to be. This is despite the fact that all the evidence does point to the fact that we are losing weight and getting healthier. Did you take any pictures of yourself before your surgery? If so, take one of you now and post them side by side. I bet you will then definitely be able to tell the difference.

We got one of those types of email too. We were told to sneeze in the sleeve, the elbow part.

    don't make this mistake

I think you are probably right about that. I am also much more selective about what I eat now too.

Fanny, keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes through without a hitch for you. When I had my band, after a couple of overfills, I definitely learned that slower was better.
  14. Good luck today! Let us know how everything goes as soon as you feel up to it.

  15. Good luck today! I am sure you will do fabulous.

    don't make this mistake

My hubby loves grits. I have tried them prepared every way imaginable and have just never managed to develop a taste for them.

    Pre-Op Milk shakes?

Do you know if you are going to be on a specific brand? That makes all the difference in the world.

    Hello :)

Hi Josephine, I am curious about the 10oz as well. That does seem like an awful lot. Let us know if you talk to him and what you find out.

    Getting Started

Hi Judy, I am not sure how I missed this thread. At any rate, I just wanted to say hello. I see you have already received some wonderful advice. We have the greatest members here!

Super personal BUT I have to know. . .

Tiff, I honestly haven't noticed any changes, myself. I am sure if my husband had, he would have commented by now. What is important is that you and your husband have a great relationship. So, let him know your concerns and take things slow af first (if that is possible after six months). I think everything will be fine and you guys are going to have a wonderful "reunion".
  23. Good morning and welcome to our forums. We are definitely glad to have you join us. All of us will keep our fingers and toes crossed in hopes of your getting your approval. Keep us posted on how things are going.
  24. Shanda, you are doing so good. Isn't exciting to see that scale moving down? I remember when I used to dread and avoid the scale. Now, I can't wait for Sunday morning weigh-ins!
