    What one man shared...

Wow, isn't it amazing all the changes we go through after this surgery. It isn't all just physical, there is a great deal mentally as well. It is wonderful to actually look forward to life and living again. You are doing wonderful. Thank you for sharing.

    It is official

Judy, I know it must be frustrating to have this day, but like the others, I truly believe it is for the best. I am confident you will be able to get it under control and have your surgery soon.
  4. Hi and welcome to our forums. You will find that there are a lot of us here who had our surgery outside of the US. In our "Tell Your Story" forum, people have listed their experiences, and most of them have turned out excellent. We look forward to following your progress.

    Carbonated drinks?

I stay away from carbonated drinks. The few sips I have taken really, really upset my stomach. They are just not worth it to me.
  6. Happy birthday!

    Happy Birthday "Susan"!

Thank you guys. Daisy, I must admit, my daughter made me a chocolate thunder from down under last night for my birthday. I did indulge, but it was so sweet after only a couple of bites I had enough. Sweets just do not appeal to me much anymore.
  8. I am a bit confused as to why people are becoming so angry over an argument that took place months ago. No need to rehash and/or get angry over something that took place in the past, has long since been resolved and people have moved on from. Please, before you post something in anger, check the date of the original post. For clarification to new members and in defense of myself and Vegas Angel, Sheri (aka akindofmagick) please note that as I already stated, this post originally began months ago, before either myself or Vegas Angel were members of the admin/moderator team here at VST.

    Any update?

Nope, nothing in quite a while here either. I hope she is okay.

Judy, I am so excited for you and that your day is almost here. I am sure you will do great!

    delicate subject

I didn't have any problems with that either. I think that is something that people who get the band tend to have more of a problem with because of the port area being so tender. Many of them used tongs to assist with hygiene.

    Hungry girl

I am a fan of hers on facebook and also follow her on twitter. She does put out some really great recipes as well as advice for weight loss.

    Any other Canadians out there?

Hi Oakley, and welcome to VST. We are so happy to have you join us. I also never expect to really be skinny again, I just want to be at a healthy weight. I truly believe with the sleeve we will all achieve this goal.
  17. I don't do protein drinks either. I have never found one I could really tolerate. I also just make sure I get plenty of protein via the foods I eat. It can be done, and I am much happier getting mine that way.

    Awesome, thanks for sharing!
  21. Jane, welcome to VST. Thank you for sharing your success with our members. We don't have many longer term sleevers on here, so your input is invaluable to us. I look forward to getting to know you better and reading more on your experiences with the sleeve.
  22. Bill, I took showers in the hospital the day after my surgery. You should be fine with that.
  23. Yep, once your incisions are healed, you are cleared for baths. I am so enjoying hot baths now that the majority of my body is actually able to be under water. It is wonderful.
