AUGUST THE 15TH THE START OF MY NEW LIFE!!!!
*susan* replied to piccollo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Genny, Welcome to VST! Congratulations on getting your date, I am so excited for you! This is an awesome decision that will change your health and life for the better! -
I started the C25K program back in October and then hurt my knee. About the time I was ready to start again, I hurt my ankle. Finally, I think I am all healed up and ready to get back started again. I plan to do it on Tuesday's, Thursday's and Sunday's. I really enjoyed it last time I started and can't wait to get going again.

Which type of phone do you have?

Our weight fluctuates every day. Stress can affect it, too much salt can affect it, not enough Water and a million other things. Don't be so hard on yourself. You are doing fine and doing what you should be doing and the weight will continue to come off. As for being five months out and you should be 100 pounds down by now, where did you get that from? Everyone loses at a different pace, and 100 pounds in five months is a lot of weight to lose in a very short amount of time. Don't judge your weight loss based on anyone elses, everyone's body, metabolism, etc., works differently. You are doing great!

The New LBT is SO SLOW to me....
*susan* replied to spoiltmom's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
You can always scroll down to the bottom left on your screen where you will see a dropdown box. Switch to mobile mode and it will eliminate all the advertisements and load much quicker. -
Has this been straightened out yet? if not, let me know and I will look at fixing the issue for you.

Wow, what a great NSV! I am so happy for you and excited that you got to share in that moment with your hubby as well.

I am presently doing the couch to 5k program. I like it because I start off slow and easy and work my way up. It is working well for me.

Back with continued success
*susan* replied to BobBayCityMI's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Welcome back, Bob! Looks like you are doing awesome. If I don't take my daily Prilosec, I still have problems with acid reflux as well. I have accepted that Prilosec is just going to be a part of my daily regimen. You need to post some before and after pictures for us! -
A successful journey so far!

Girl, I just love watching how amazing you are doing! You look fabulous and I know you are feeling better every day. You are a great inspiration to everyone here! -
I had a horrible problem with constipation and when I did go, it was exactly as you described. My doc recommended good ol' Milk of Magnesia. It worked wonderfully for me.

I have never been a big breakfast eater, plus, I am always running late and really don't have time to make a big breakfast. Most of the time I have a protein shake or a protein bar. I finally found one I really like, which is the Shakeology protein shake. They have a chocolate one that is really rich in flavor, kind of like a liquid hershey bar. It doesn't have as bad of an aftertaste either. If I do eat actual food for breakfast, it is usually just peanut butter on toasted whole wheat bread.

It sounds like you are progressing nicely. I remember them taking the drain out before I left the hospital, it didn't hurt, but it kind of freaked me out a bit for some reason, lol.

Hmmm, I have yet to see the donut. Curious now, lol.

Okay, I have got to try this. You can't go wrong if it has cream cheese in it, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing!

The band *does* fail some people (long)
*susan* replied to ElfiePoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry about the issues you have had, but am right there with you. And for those like you and me, it seems like once we have one problem, more just seem to arise. I am thrilled for people who have success with the band, but I am also happy there is an alternative for those of us who for some reason our body seems to more or less reject it. -
Wow, you are doing absolutely fabulous! Congratulations! And you can do anything you set your mind to!

Did you crave any foods, tastes after surgery?
*susan* replied to ImdownwithVSG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was on liquids only, I craved scrambled eggs and tuna fish. Two things I have never really ate a lot of, but for some reason I just really wanted them. So, you can imagine what my first meals were when I was able to move to mushies! I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. It was wonderful. -
When mine flipped, it was during the first year I had my band. I was fortunate because the cost of my surgery included all fills, and any complications, etc. for one year. So, I was able to have the port placed back in proper position without it costing me anything.

Congratulations! You are doing amazing and I know how good you must feel.

Band Slipage, Now band will never be the same!
*susan* replied to kris102003's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am so sorry about the problems you are having. Unfortunately, I completely understand what you are going through. My band worked perfect for the first year or so. Then I had a major slip. From that day on, I was miserable. Nothing was ever right with it again. I even had two more slips after that. My problem was, even with no fill, my band was too tight. I should have been losing weight based on that, but, I needed some sort of food and the only thing I could get past my band was ice cream. Man, did I become a fan of Peanut Butter tracks ice cream! It is what I lived on for almost a year, I kid you not! So, I understand what you are going through. When the band is working, it is a wonderful tool. When it isn't, it can make life very difficult. My heart goes out to you and I hope you are able to resolve your problems and continue to meet your goals. -
Do you regret getting a LapBand?
