Nsv That I Still Can't Believe
*susan* replied to theoldmusicbox's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Oh my goodness, this brought to tears to my eyes, what a wonderful moment for you! -
For me, it is easy not to drink and eat. because if I drink anything while eating, I become really, really uncomfortable. Generally, I cannot drink anything until at least an hour after I have ate.

Honest Opinions
*susan* replied to FlawlessVictory13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly, it depends on what you are looking for, as there are many factors in determining what weight loss surgery is best for you. You have to ask yourself these questions, then discuss them with your advisor or doctor to determine which is best for you: 1. Do you want to eliminate the hunger you always feel? 2. What is your weight loss goal? 3. How much maintenance are you willing to put in once the operation is done? 4. How fast do you want to lose the weight? 5. What is your back-up plan if the procedure you choose doesn't work for you? 6. What are the risks and the worst possible outcome? 7. What are the short-term complications? 8. What are the long-term complications? 9. What are the short-term and long-term average weight loss results? Sent from my iPad using VST -

Theosmom, basically, the plication is a version of the sleeve where the sleeve is created by suturing instead of removing stomach tissue and therefore it preserves it's natural absorption capabilities. It is considered less invasive then the gastric sleeve and you would have a shorter hospital stay. If you are interested in Gastric Sleeve Plication as opposed to Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy, you might want to visit our sister site at http://www.sleeveplicationtalk.com/. Always Something, Never Nothing...
*susan* replied to UTGal99's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Usually when you are having blood work done, you have to fill out a questionnaire listing all medications you are on. I don't see why there would be a problem as long as you disclose everything on it, but I am not a nurse or doctor. Just my opinion. Sent from my iPad using VST -

After You Have Been Sleeved For A While, What Does Retriction Feel Like?
*susan* replied to PJ_Sleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Like the others have said, it is a totally different feeling than with the band. You just feel uncomfortable if you eat too much, like a normal person. My only weird thing is, my body lets me know when I have had enough to eat my expelling a few loud and obnoxious hiccoughs, always pleasant to hear when dining out, lol. Sent from my iPad using VST -

Wolfgirl, I am still really shy about posing for photos. I guess I still see myself as that really big girl, so I tend to stay away from the camera. Here is one I had taken with my daughter about twenty pounds ago. Sent from my iPad using VST

I did learn that I have to watch how much I drink. Since getting sleeved, I am an extreme light weight. Two beers and I have quite a buzz going, lol. Sent from my iPad using VST
