    Daily Caloric Intake

I am three years out and was nearly at goal when I encountered major medical issue which resulted in my gaining back thirty pounds. I didn't change my eating habits, it was just a combination of the medical problems, inability to exercise, meds and hormones. I am now back fairly regulated, eating about 1350 calories a day and losing an average of 1.5 pounds per week. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Disgusted By Others Eating

I am sure most of us experience a whole myriad of feelings when we encounter such situations. We can't help how we feel, only how we react to those feelings. As for me, I feel sad when I see that. I feel sad for that person, because I look at them and see myself a few years ago. I feel sad because I was completely oblivious or in denial of what I was doing to my body. I feel sad because I remember not even really taking the time to enjoy the actual flavor of the food. And, I also feel hope. I hope that something in their mind will click, something they see or hear will touch a nerve, they will finally encounter that straw that broke the camels back and say, "what am I doing to myself?" And when they do, I hope they have the resources and the support system that I did to be able to conquer those demons and achieve a healthier life. Sent from my iPad using VST

  10. This is what I have been using lately as well. I mix the vanilla with greek yogurt, cinnamon, almond milk and a banana and it is super yummy. I just use one scoop at a time.

    3.5 Months Out - Bleeding

First off, my apologies to anyone who was offended, nobody here is an idiot. Thank you all for your concern and kind responses to the original posters question. For the OP, honestly, if I was bleeding, I would place a call immediately to my doctor to ask their opinion. At this stage, it is unlikely to be something from your surgery. But it definitely could be a sign of a number of other possible medical issues. Just to be safe, make the call, and please let us know what you find out. We are worried about you.

    Milkshake?

LT, your dog is absolutely adorable. Please accept my apologies for your feeling you had to change your original avatar due to members making unkind comments about it. As a support forum, that is definitely not encouraged here, and is a violation of forum rules. Sent from my iPad using VST

Agreed, if you are in that much pain, the best thing to do is contact your doctor or go to the emergency room. Better safe than sorry. Please let us know how you are doing. Sent from my iPad using VST
  24. Absolutely, this is a support forum. I am not saying we shouldn't offer advice or support when asked for, that is why we exist. But, sometimes people read a lot more into a post than necessary, and as all people are different and react differently to different things, we need to be conscious of how we say things. Just because someone asks when can they have Doritos does not automatically mean they need counseling. They may just genuinely be curious when they can have one. Most likely, they already know it isn't exactly a healthy choice, but maybe it is something they wish to have as a nice treat on occasion. Can you imagine how frustrated they would be if a simple question they asked suddenly turns into a major debate about whether they need counseling, shame on them for wanting a treat or whatever? They just wanted to know when, lol. Again, so much of it comes back to how we formulate our response, whether it sounds judgmental, or it sounds like, "hey, I feel for you and went through something similar and this is what I did.". The advice may be the same, but the way it is formulated makes all the difference in the world. I know I personally respond much better to someone who says to me, "what I hear you saying is this, and here is my suggestion on how I dealt with that or would if it happened to me" as opposed to, "absolutely not, you are sabatoging your surgery and you need to seek out counseling immediately before you kill yourself.". Now, I admit, the latter was a bit extreme, but I hope you understand the point I am trying to make. Sent from my iPad using VST
